I’ve mostly been a DPS dude with some light healing sprinkled in here and there, but never really gotten to the point where I’ve been able to push higher end content in any patch. In 9.0x, it seems I’ve had the time to get to know dungeons and the raid better than previous expansions/patches.
I’ve been playing all the tanks lately, just trying each out at max level to see how they fare in dungeons play-style wise. I’ve been trying to find resources on each one to get better and better, making sure I’m optimizing my routes (never tanked above a +10, but still practicing anyways), and focusing on using all of my toolkit for each respective tank.
Monk has been my favourite since 8.3 (came back to the game after a decade off) but I’m having a really hard time cracking the Brewmaster. I’ve watched tons of videos, mostly Quazii, especially when he coaches, to figure out damage mitigation and cooldown usage, but I feel like I’ve hit sort of a brick wall.
I tanked a +8 Sanguine Depths on this dude a couple of days ago, and while it went well enough and we 1-chested it (missed 2 chest by about 30 seconds), I died a couple times, once to the pack before the gauntlet, and once during the gauntlet. The bosses were easy enough for a tyrannical week, but I’m really struggling on trash in general. In contrast, I did a +9 ToP as WW and the tank was a 197 ilvl Brewmaster and made it look so stupid easy.
Again, I know it’s really hard to contextualize this without any sort of video, but are there any silly mistakes you guys made when you were starting to push into higher keys? I’m thinking I’m missing some important part of the equation since I feel like I’m made of paper. I really want to make it work as a Brewmaster, but trash pulls just got me down in the dumps!
Thanks!
