Brewmaster help

Yo,

I’ve been reading guides this week and watching videos and trying to get a handle on Brewmaster. I haven’t played since MoP.

One thing I’ve noticed compared to my other tanks is that Brewmaster (even with offensive gems and stats) does almost no damage? I even swapped a few utility talents for some damage ones, got the fire ring and the dodge/parry trinket and I’m still only 75k-80k single target.

Rotationally I’m using smash on CD (usually with BO Combo to bring back my celestial brew), Blackout kick on CD, tiger palm/RJW to fill and I’ll use BoF after each keg smash. I’m using my CD’s as they are available and my tiger statue does overlap with my Invoke Niuzao.

Any ideas?

My armory is up to date @ 500ilvl 40% crit 34% vers 4% haste and 16% mastery.

Do you maybe have a log? Would be easier with that, but in ST you want to use Combo with Tiger Palm for example. The Wowhead guide can help you as well.

Blackout kick on CD is very hard to do and people think they do it, but in reality they miss a lot of cast. This is something a log can explain in seconds

Tigerstatue and Niuzao have no interaction. I don’t know why you mention that you overlap them? this would mean you delay Statue every time?

I haven’t done brewing for awhile. I’d suggest making some weak auras for CDs… That what I did, eventually you’ll be able to play without your buttons visible, just WA’s…

Though took hours perfecting the WA’s it’s worth… Wish I could upload it so others could use it, it’s the best brew WA’s there is. Seriously…

Anyways, I’d try repairing your gear.

I’ve been trying to use the ox offensively :sob:

I’m sure I’m not 100% on BOK but I’m also not 100% on shuffle either. I hit 97%-ish usually. Probably need to dial that in too.

I reflexively use combo with keg smash because I’m still not too confident and I get freaked out when all my brews are on CD. I’m sure that isn’t helping.

I’ll start logging a bit

It probably due to your mastery is too low i would also switch out Pretense of Instability for High Tolerance. If you just doing raiding your build is fine. If you talking mythic then I would change those along with changing Training of Niuzao for Light Brewing to be faster on clearing stagger. I run a higher Mastery build that does almost 100k on bosses.

Secondary stats are usually the wrong place to look. Pretense is very strong and ToN (Training) is also very good defensively (and better offensively). Those 2 things give a ton of dodge Chance and you say he shouldn’t skill them but on the other hand you want him to have more Mastery in order to increase the dodge chance again.

Light Brewing is not really recommended. It isn’t bad, but is only picked when tankbusters align with CB. This is only the case for Broodmother mythic Boss tank in whole DF. Also, almot 100k on bosses is not a lot.
