Brewmaster as a PuG tank

I had my mind set on going Brew come TWW, but after making the mistake of looking at tier videos I have had my concerns.

My biggest concern is the fact I only PuG since I have no regular group. Some of what I’ve looked at shows Brew being the worst for pugging because of their reliance on a healer. However, I feel that stagger, dispels, RoP, the ability to soothe every minute all lend itself to taking care of some mechanic that are sometimes ignored.

My second choice was warrior so I started playing mine. However, I was surprised at the number of people who were apparently clueless about the affix and, without my handy dispel, soon became frustrated. The same holds true with Blood DK.

I thought, hey, let’s try pally since I have a dispel… however, the lack of stagger was felt as I got chunked more than my monk…

Anyhow - just curious what kind of success people have had with Brew for pugging. Wanting to hit 3kish in season 1.

Thanks!

Yeah you’ll easily be able to hit 3k as brew pugging. Those tier lists are for title range or higher and are going to be completely wrong when the next few rounds of tuning come out

Disagree. There are tier lists for pugs. Brew has never been a great pug tank due to its heavy reliance on healer, no combat res, no party support such as, off-heal, BoP, AMZ, rallying cry. Most of time, your ccs are used as def cds than real ccs. In DF, brew was a downgraded version of BDK. In TWW, brew will be a worse version of prot warrior.

Tier lists are a joke, and 3k is not cutting edge. Maybe brew won’t be as good for world first keys but will very easily be able to get 3k
