For those that might not have done all of the Brewfest activities, here are some things I have discovered, or strategies I use, during Brewfest. Feel free to add your own. Some of these might seem obvious, but you never know who might be struggling with parts of the event.
- Alts are a viable way to get a lot of tokens, since all of the quests are per-character. easily over 250 per character.
- Tokens are now Warbound, so you can store extras in your Warbank for the next alt to use.
- The event starts at the top of the hour. Don’t forget to do all of the new quests to learn how to gather, cook, and serve the food/drinks. If you haven’t done the intro quests, you will not be eligible for the rewards from the event.
- Once the event starts, you can speak to the NPC by the stage, to pick which role you want to do. You can change it at any time during the event. There is a temporary visual to denote which role you are currently assigned: Gatherers get a backpack, Cooks get a chef’s hat, and Servers get a serving tray.
- Try to balance how many of each type of role everyone is doing, if possible. Gatherers fill the cart with supplies. Cooks turn the supplies into pretzels, porridge, or brew. Servers take the available items and serve them to patrons. If you notice food is always low, for example, maybe switch to Cook.
- Gathering is pretty simple. Respawns are pretty fast, and sometimes, there are bags of supplies just sitting on the ground.
- As a Cook, it’s best to check the lowest supply, and make that. Or just make porridge, since it is the fastest, with the least steps. lol
- Assign one Server to run around and ask patrons what they want (or do it yourself), and it will put a visual over their heads, for what to serve them. It makes it easier for the rest of the Servers to just bring whatever, and find someone who wants that item.
- Once you reach the max points for the event, someone can speak to the main NPC at the stage to summon the Hozen boss.
- Bubbles: This quest is also available in Valdrakken. You can either use the whirlwind lift, or just fly through them on a mount.
- Barrel Roll: This quest is also available in Valdrakken, up near the Ruby District area. If you can’t find the other starting points, the Ironforge one is up inside Ironforge (deliver to Kharanos), and the Orgrimmar one is over by the NPC that gives you barrels for the Ram Racing quests (deliver to Razor Hill).
- You also do not need every speed boost for the barrel roll. Just make sure not to hit any spills, or you’ll have to run it a second time. Crashes remove 30% of your completion score.
- For Ram Racing, you don’t have to go all the way to the barrel NPC to get a barrel. Just watch your character, and when the barrel shows up on your back, you can turn around.
- You can ride rams at perma-10 speed by running through the apple barrels. For horde, you only need the one next to the road and the one in the small camp. No need to go all the way to the one behind the barrel NPC. In Dun Morogh, you need all three apple barrels to keep full speed.
- Coren Direbrew is really easy, so don’t worry if your tank or healer will be good enough. We actually downed him with an AFK tank in one run. lol
- For Wolpertingers, if you’re having trouble clicking on them, create a /target Wolpertinger macro, with an additional command for /use Wolpertinger Net. Then just add that to a button and it should save you some time and headaches.
- For pink elekks, you now only need 3, total. So, just go wherever is closer (fly to Thunder Bluff or portal to Silvermoon/Undercity, or fly/tram to Stormwind)/closest to your hearth, get your three, and you’re done.
- For Chowdown, if drink/plate are both on long cooldowns, you can afford to max out your sausage meter (sometimes). You don’t have to win to complete the quest, but you do if you’re going for the trophy toy.
If I think of more, I might add them later. I know it’s already a lot.
