I don’t know exactly how far back, but pre-BFA the gear drops (helm, shanker, trinkets, etc…) from the holidays used to be pretty sought-after.
I remember a time when one of the BoE weapons was selling for a large sum of gold. I just can’t recall exactly how far back.
But they used to be worth something.

I’ve done a ton of holiday stuff over the years (feel free to check my achievements), on many characters including my alts. But I always did it for the seasonal rewards (in this case, brewfest tokens).
The notion of expecting good, equippable loot from a trivial holiday event is ridiculous.

Those trinkets have been raid worthy for many raid tiers.
Maybe not BiS but still worth farming.
It’s kind of a joke to have them at 184.

hey now, the 14 seconds it takes to down direbrew is no laughing matter

It should have some incentive though once you’ve done it and seen it why would you do it again

its only 184? lmao my main is higher than that even and i’ve barely played SL. at least now i dont have to bother with the event
Maybe they should make Mythic Direbrew.

For more Brewfest Tokens and/or rare mount drops. Same reason people have done all the holiday events on multiple characters for years.

They don’t need to even do that, just set the scaling to loot we pick up. The trinkets and other gear has a low enough drop rate it would be fine. And make him harder
This use to be a hard fight. endgame geared only helped so much but he still packed a punch.

Yeah, they’re really shooting themselves in the foot for making everything unappealing for absolutely everyone.
Least they could’ve done was make the floor of this sort of content (TW/Holiday) rival early Korthia progression.
IDK what’s going on with their reward structure. Like, if they don’t want something to reward an appropriate level gear, why have the gear in there at all? They could’ve easily slipped more cosmetics into this thing.

And if you have them?
Dropping one piece of high-level gear isn’t going to kill anything. It does incentivize ppl to get involved

Better watch out, thin line between incentivized and “OMG STOP FORCING ME TO DO YOUR HOLIDAY EVENTS BLIZZ”

oh i do remember, it was definitely possible to wipe on it back in the day. i haven’t done it since BFA and it was just a shadow of that.

It’s two separate teams.
Sometimes just doing the event and having a good time is the reward. If you don’t want to do the event, don’t do it. I wouldn’t expect ilvl updates this close to the event going live, seems they’ve been a bit low the past several years anyway.

I have everything from Brewfest, have for years, haven’t done Coren Direbrew in a long, long, long time.
That’s fine with me.

Well, at least the holidays in other games get updated frequently.

I agree. I mean for an event that takes place once a year it’s pathetic honestly. They could have bumped the item level to 236 and what difference would it have made?

Yea screw that whole “fun” reason. I mean who still enjoys this game anyway?

Its not supposed to be raid ilvl gear.
