Hey guys - I’m basically a wow beginner and so am struggling to understand when my character is level 120, how to wound one of the required animals before trapping it. Naturally at this level I am one shotting them and I believe you have to whittle them down to about 20% health before you can trap them. How is this done? I have taken all gear off and I still one shot them. Also, when I throw a trap on the ground it closes immediately - which after watching videos, isn’t supposed to happen. Any advice would be appreciated - cheers.
We’re doomed. pretty much. Even without any weapons we 1HKO them.
Perhaps… low level engineering bombs?
I have been trapping on 120s up to a few months ago and I never had to remove ALL my gear to do so.
You either are still using your weapon or have your pet out.
Thanks for the responses guys - no pets out but tried using a low level weapon. So punching is the way - yes?
There’s this;
Although from the comments it only works on the regular mobs not the elites. Those you need to just punch.
There’s a foam sword toy and also a, “whole body shrinka,” toy.
These might help!
… no punching doesn’t work. Can someone please talk me through this - assume if you want that I’m a moron - because I am very much a beginner. Ty.
Thx Grarn - I’ll look for this item
Breaking into the trap game
Such a good name for a quest.
EDIT: In real world, trap game breaks into you!
Thx guys - the foam sword works - yeah:)
Well if all else fails and someone cannot get a foam sword you could try giving yourself res sickness.
This actually works!!!
I was not able to get the foam sword to work on the elite leather beasts.
So my recommendation is this:
Fly up about 100 yards. Dismount, fall and go splat. Run back to your corpse and you’ll have about 10 minutes of res sickness where you can trap about 15-20 of the elite leather beasts. At least that’s how I’ve done it. Take your gear off and leave it in your bank to minimize repair costs and just wear something cosmetic.
The traps at are located in the barn. They are sparkly, sitting on the ground.
If you are talking about the trap items for your garrison, you should be able to get one from the NPC at the related garrison building if it is not already in your bag/s from accepting the related quests.
That necro though
There’s nothing but Capture Clefthoof or Training Talbuk quests.
The foam sword toy doesn’t work on elite creatures unfortunately.
Stripping gear and/or doing the rez sickness thing are probably your best best for those.
Wrong building; that’s the stable. You want the Barn for the traps.
Silly me.
I’ll delete that necro.
Foam swords!
Or not!
It has been a while since I was back at my garrison on any toon, that said, I know the traps are available at the related building, and that you get them automatically with certain quests as you “upgrade” them.
I would first check my bags to make sure I didn’t just miss the trap item being there, I would then accept the quests to see if I automatically get one, then I would check the npcs, then I would check if they were a clickable item at the building.
