Break the Meta keys

So for those not in the know, raiderio is hosting a basically antimeta event where all the worst represented specs in m+ get a chance to shine for some prizes. those prizes involve the following:

    60 days World of Warcraft Game Time
    The Enchanted Fey Dragon Blizzard Store Mount
    The Sprite Darter’s Wings Transmog Set
    The Blinky Blizzard Store Pet
    The Baby Murloc Satch-Shells Transmog

and to be eligible for the rewards one must run with all of the break the meta specs involved. Raiderio has a list of all the specs that are eligible.

I really hope this event gets people interested in pushing keys as off meta specs as i love seeing innovation in games and i’ll be playing on mostly my prot warrior and mistweaver / brewmaster monk the next couple of weeks.

I have good news for you. There are already TONS of people playing as off-meta specs. Myself included.

Only those going for top-of-the-top Mythic+ (esport wise) need to go meta. But even then, its a huge needless grind.

Blizzard should stop awarding titles for the top Mythic + players, and instead give titles to the top Mythic + players of each class / spec.

As someone who doesn’t like m+, it does not get me interested in m+. If anything, now I am less interested.

Also the “Break the Meta” implying anyone besides holy paladin was the meta healer is sorta cute.

You sign up and complete keys using certain “off meta” specs for the entire group.

Tanks - DK, Monk, Paladin, Warrior

Healers - Holy Priest, Monk, Evoker.

DPS - Aff Lock, Arcane Mage, Arms War, As Rogue, Demo Lock, Dev Evoker, Ele Sham, Feral Druid, Frost DK, Havoc DH, MM Hunter, Outlaw Rogue, Survival Hunter, Unholy DK

Guardian and vengeance - vengeance also brings chaos brand to the magic damage meta. And guardian apparently has great survivability.

Wow this is the hard hitting analysis I come here for. I thought every key was ran by only meta classes before this week I honestly had no idea.

I said, I, as in me, am less interested. Not that people shouldn’t “break the meta”, as though people don’t ignore the meta anyway.

Look, it doesn’t matter, you just made it seem like you were less interested now than ever because of what they were doing. Which doesn’t make sense to me. But again it doesn’t matter

Instead of using that for 5 prizes for 5 people, they are making it a single prize and making the rest of the prizes Highest Dungeon Cleared based?

No wonder they’re such a horrible site.

“We want to have prizes available for people who don’t push super high keys but instead of increasing the number of these prizes, we’re just gonna shove them all to one person.”

Basically most of my whole group’s been off meta, then.

Prot Paladin, Disc Priest, Arms Warrior/Frost DK, Devoker, Sub Rogue/Frost Mage

With such braindead takes it’s suprising they didn’t put you back on the cc.

You can always donate prizes to other players if you feel the free event rio doesn’t need to host but still is hosting isn’t up to your standards.
