Agreed, they did state they didn’t want profession gear to be immediately Transmoggable but are fully ware all of it is stuff people would definitely want to Mog so that option will definitely come a bit later.
My guess it’ll be behind a questline or achievement.

It should remain profession only until next expac.
That’s oddly specific.
Because the whole point of these things is to add more flavor and immersion to professions. It will defeat one of its purpose if a blacksmith is wearing alchemy gear.
I like to think they will keep expanding on this in the future, and we get new stuff.

You auto equip your profession gear when you craft/gather, so it’s not immersion breaking at all.
So what if the Blacksmith wears the neat alchemist hat when adventuring or in PvP? Is it any more immersion breaking than a Priest or Mage being a Blacksmith?

Kinda lame they only show when doing progression related things. Would make more sense for it to be a gear set that has profession based stats/set bonuses.

Eh I’m good with not having to collect a whole set of Alchemist Pauldrons, Belt, chest, legs, wrists, hands, feet, helmet, back, trinket, trinket, and ring and ring to make potions, it’s its own little setup so you don’t have to carry around multiple sets of stuff.
Druids are now going to be forced to drop flight form while skinning to ‘better look’ the part. 
Meanwhile tailors with their painted on bag and geometry clipping scissors…an I a joke to you?
Once again something cool is completely wasted. Although not surprising.
Or, ORRRRRRR, we get cute ushankas for birb and moose form as well.
