For the same reason you don’t match up a level 30 versus a level 60.

They can’t. They destroyed participation with this expansion. But it should have always been a thing with this type of gearing.

No it shouldn’t. All this idea does is penalize people with more gear. Blizzard should never adopt this.

actually merc mode is hurting it atm thought the ilv issue in bgs is a thing the problem is when u have 2 factions funneling low ilv toons to one side while the other side has the dedicated high ilv for the wins.
It would be cool if Blizzard made a new BG for anyone to join and you got to pick your gear (Legendaries, epics) pre-match and all items are Ilvl255 or new items for the new patch. You only get to use it during this BG. Kinda like getting a taste of rare/new gear so it motivates new players to do that pvp grind. Just a thought or idea

Yes, for the same reason oranges and broccoli are the same… Wait, they aren’t. Their weird gear acquisition formulae brought the current mess, nothing needs to be changed about how bgs work.

Do you want ilvl brackets or for the gearing system to actually be fixed? Because by this post it will continue to make the gearing system bad and not fun. With brackets you will still be on the lower part of the system to start. Just like 39s have advantage over a level 30. And then people will still be complaining.
It goes both ways, it could be said weaker players like yourself need weak opponents not to be reminded of their weakness.

There is nothing wrong with the q system. If you actually have issues it’s with the gearing.
Just because some people do higher rated material than them doesn’t mean in a free for all q they should have to sit much longer q times.
The idea is bad and I’m almost certain blizzard would never adopt this when there are much better ideas out there to fix your complaint
