Can someone please explain how this is not the most ridiculous concept ever?
Someone played the game and the entire community is upset.

Agree 100%.
Somebody put more effort into the game, and thus was rewarded more, and people should not be upset at that.
In most circumstances its not because someone put more effort in they abused a system set up by a server to try and get everyone rank 14 that requires less then 24/7 commitment by keeping honor caps.
Usually the break is a 1 off as the server ranking community just increases caps and blacklists the guy so he’s no longer a problem. In the case of botting we normally just get the entire server to report them.
it makes the grind easier on everyone if everyone follows it, but there’s no rule saying you have to nor is there an official tool to force players to follow bracket stacks. It’s not a ridiculous concept, it’s a really good concept, but what is ridiculous is trying to force people to follow it. If you want people to follow it, raise your caps so people feel compelled to listen.
Brackets help the whole server. They help everyone rank faster and help people have as much of a life as possible when pushing for high ranks.
The only people who don’t want to get it are the people who have never bothered to rank past 10. They are pretty much incapable of understanding what it is like to spend 60-100+ hours a week ranking. I explained some concerns in my other post and am not going to explain further to people who don’t want to understand and especially to people who think in-game fraud is fine.

Because they attempted to rig the system to make it much much easier, and it failed because some one wanted to get it over with.

Because without brackets, everyone is playing 24/7, and nobody wants that.
Because people feel entitled to rank. It’s “their turn” to get rank 14 and you ruined it. Stupid concept imo.
Also fixing brackets in necessary because blizzard designed a god awful pvp reward system in vanilla.
So, there is good social thing pvp community created and here comes a hero with solo mentality in mind to just “play the game”. Oh yeah, it’s totally an indicator there is something wrong with classic.
