Celessi really doesn’t get it and you folks are wasting your time.
Celessi supports bracket breakers because “you’re not the boss of me.” Just let it go. Rankers will do what they have always done, work around those who don’t want to help the collective.
Oh, and like in any social system, regardless of if you like it or not, failing to comply with social norms has consequences. It’s the same “you’re not the boss of me.” I won’t group or guild with a bracket breaker. But, since we’ve established that no one can tell me how to play, I’m perfectly allowed to not play with breakers. They get to do what they think is right–PvP with no regard for others on the server–and I get to do what I think is right–not group/guild with those folks.

FFS, yes. I never denied that. Dude, the problem is that it’s not only YOU refusing to play with them, it’s you trying to manipulate everyone else to do the same thing. It’s the difference between the whole server independently deciding to not play with him, and you spreading his name around with the intention of getting everyone else to not play with him. This is not a hard concept to understand.
But my argument is that you don’t get to get other people to not play with him. You don’t get to institute a server-wide punishment. If you don’t want to play with him, fine, don’t play with him. But if you’re telling me not to play with him, THAT is when you’re a problem.
If the server hears something that is the truth, and they decide not to play with you…that is 100% fine by your own admission.
I don’t see why you have a problem with this.

It’s not about YOU not grouping with someone, it’s about you making sure OTHER PEOPLE don’t group with him.
You don’t get it. No one is forcing anyone else to do anything. They’re choosing to not group with you knowing you’re a bracket breaker.

Not when the reason is to make sure that nobody else plays with the guy to make them an outcast on the server because they messed with your exploitation of the ranking system. They did a few extra BGs.

I cannot force anyone to group or not group with anyone else. They’re making that choice all by them selves.
No, but you know that accusing someone of purposely breaking brackets just to screw over everyone else WILL cause them to stop playing with them.

I can’t make you punish anyone. We’ve established everyone can play their own game. I can say “I won’t group with X because he’s a bracket breaker.” You can group with X all day long.
Why is it bad to note that X is playing the game the way he wants to?

It’s not the truth unless you can prove it. You don’t find it a little weird that literally everyone who BGs out of turn is “intentionally trying to break the brackets?”
Because of the intention behind it. You’re not telling other people about it because you want to just let the guy play his way. You’re telling other people about it because you want them to follow you in making sure nobody groups with that guy. You’re not doing this innocently.
Having only made it to R11 in Vanilla, you probably weren’t in need of this during that time, but brackets definitely existed back then for those who wished to use them. Stacking is all but essential for Ranks 12+
Here is the problem with your stance from my view point, as someone who got R14 in classic. The system is so terrible we have to work together. There is no other way around it. If the community doesn’t team up, it makes the system more unhealthy and toxic than it already is.
Your honor grind going to 700k is relative. Your Rank Point gain is based on what EVERYONE else does. This means if you run up the score real high, you gain nothing, everyone else just loses. Given the system requires 3 months (minimum) of top performance in order to progress, it makes sense to work out caps together.
Personally, if you were on my server, I would make sure the cap was set high enough you couldn’t pass R12. If you want R13 and R14 prove you are legit and not cheating by playing within the community. It’s a liability to have someone going around and potentially threatening the last 3+ month of my and everyone elses hard work, which honestly spanned SO far beyond just getting the honor.
Basically, the way I see it, you are actually earning your rank LESS than those who worked together to not make this system bad, and in turn if you don’t want to play you are effectively a PvP ninja looter to me.
