Bracket Breaker

This would have a point IF it ONLY applied to the people in that group, and if telling them wasn’t intended to destroy the other person’s entire reputation. But it extends outside, to the point where if someone breaks your precious brackets, he shouldn’t be able to find a group to do a raid with. Which has been stated by a few people in these threads.

If simply telling the truth is enough to ruin a person’s reputation…

Imagine there’s a group of people who are extremely anti-gay, to the point of being violent. You know, a group that tends to shave their heads and tattoo swastikas on themselves. Now, you point out that a guy is gay to them. Yeah, it’s true, but you know the outcome. You’re telling them for that specific outcome. That’s entirely different from telling a girl that he’s gay when she’s crying that he won’t take her hints.

The reason matters.

Are you really trying to equate breaking social rules with a hate crime?

No, I’m trying to find an example that’ll finally get the point through your thick skull. It’s not about you not playing with someone, it’s about the malicious intent behind you telling everyone else.

You really might want to delete that post then, because you really are trying to equate breaking social rules with a hate-crime there.

There is no malicious intent in the bracket stacking though. The server set up rules, and if you choose not to follow them…the server can choose to not play with you…and you all ready have admitted that that is entirely fine.

I know. It’s not about the bracket stacking existing, it’s about the punishments that the people involved feel that they get to bring down on everyone else who doesn’t follow along with them.

You keep using the word punishment. There is no punishment. People choosing to only group with those who follow the rules is not a punishment.

You have all ready agreed that people can group with who ever they want. If you break brackets, the server has every right to choose to not play with you.

Trying to get other people to follow along IS. Again, it’s not that YOU are refusing to group with people, it’s that you’re trying to make sure that EVERYONE ELSE doesn’t group with them.

Ok we get it. You broke brackets and got ostracized. You knew what you were doing. You knew the consequences. You did it anyway. Crying on the forums on your retail toon is not going to change anything at this point. Time to reroll on a different server.

No. You’re free to play the game in the way you see fit, and they’re free to play the game they see fit.

If the truth makes people not want to group with you, then so-be-it.

You’re seriously never going to get it. Why are you telling everyone else? Is it a heads up, hey guys we need farm a little more honor this week, or is it with the intention of all of them not playing with that guy anymore in the game ever? That’s called a punishment.

A rank 7 pushing 700k honor is not competitive, that is just being a jerk. Anyone who has a mindset that thinks forcing everybody who is ranking to play for 12+ more hours just “cause” is someone that most people wouldn’t want to play with or guild with anyway.

Most people couldn’t care less about your hardcore push and control of the brackets. YOU wouldn’t want to play with them, but you don’t speak for me, ever.

I don’t want to play with you. I can already tell. Anyone doing that much pvp (especcially in pugs) is doing it for the sole reason of screwing other players over. No thanks.

Ok, but what gives you the right to make sure the rest of the server also does the same?

Its everyone’s individual choice. No one has the power to make anyone do anything. But actions DO have consequences…especially in a social setting.

Except that you’re trying to manipulate everyone else into making the choice that you want them to. Because again, you’re not telling everyone about this person for any reason other than making sure the server becomes unplayable for him.
