As a disc priest i am finding it hard to heal the bleeds on the first boss. I know i have to bring them to 90% but if i focus on one to heal the other two dies a lot of times. Any tips
You have to plan for it.
Before pull, blanket with renews. As pull happens, hit everyone with a rapture shield. Once gash frenzy goes off, use radiance into your burst heal.
Basically the same thing with the second one. Just be prepared for it before it goes off.
If it catches you off guard the second time because of being CCed or something, drop a barrier or pain supp as you heal it. It’s also OK to burn both radiances into it. Though if you’re completely unprepared for it, then the group is probably messing up. Gash is the most dangerous thing in the fight unless people just stand in the whirlwind.
i usually rapture right before the pull begins as soon as the gash goes out rip radiance+scov
Get atonements up with renews than Rapture Power word shields, this all happens before the tank has even pulled. Immediately go into your ramp and start pumping the dmg. Cast two Power Word Radiances. This should be enough to top everyone so the bleeds fall off.
The 2nd time the boss puts bleeds up you want to be prepared to do it again. but this time using Power word Barrier and Pain suppression. Your team should also be using def CDs as well to live, some classes can even pop immunities either before the bleeds happen or after. Iceblocks, Bubbles, Hand of Protections, lay on hand, Turtle, health potions, healthstones etc.
It’s a team effort, just tell them to pop CDs for the 2nd round of bleeds, lust in the open. Should be good.
It’s a very tough boss fight.
Them darn hunters. Didnt know they can turtle it to thanks everyone for the information will try next time i run it
They have to turtle before the bleed happens though, if they turtle after the bleed it’s too late, they have to be using DBM dungeon addon to track when the bleed is going to happen. It’s harder for Hunters
Yep main thing is pre-shielding everyone with Rapture as the tank is about to pull, also don’t be scared to commit both PW:Radiance charges to it.
I think it goes off every 1m so you’ll most likely get a 2nd one but won’t have Rapture up. You need to be ready for it so have both PW:Radiance charges available, get empowered penance ready (via harsh discipline) and watch the timer when it’s about to come so you can drop Barrier like 2s prior (so people can see it).
In tyrannical keys I’d advise that you communicate with the group beforehand that you might need help on the 2nd set of bleeds, I just tell them it will come shortly after I put down PW:Barrier (so they don’t have to watch the timers) and that they might need to use a healthpotions or healthsones, etc.
Everyone plays dark iron.
Some good advice itt tho!
The boss always does gash frenzy in the same order so for the second set you can pre-pain suppression the expected first target.
Do not use Desperate Prayer either unless you combo it with a Healthstone + Healthpot. It’s a trap and you’ll now have to heal +40% more hp on yourself to get to 90%.
TBH, this is a misplay problem on the DPS… They need to be using defensive/health potions for this…
good suggestions here on how to get through this mechanic. however, it can be completely mitigated if DPS know the mechanic. you might need to educate them instead of trying to heal through it. when a party member has a red arrow over their head there will also be a red arrow coming off the boss, appearing on the ground. the boss’s red arrow follows the person with the arrow over their head. the targeted party member needs to move behind the tank so the boss’s arrow points straight at tank, that way tank can body-block the mechanic. There is no way to heal through this mechanic every time. Rapture could work once, maybe, but remember it has a 3m CD. you should not need to be blowing through all your CD’s to get through this fight. unless the DPS learn the mechanic correctly you will die every time.
Yeah this is not the mechanic we are talking about… The red arrow one is called Savage Charge and that one is indeed on the Tank/DPS to position correctly.
The one we are talking about is called Gash Frenzy, which happens almost on pull (like 5s in) and then every 1m after, the boss will shadow step to every player in short succession causing damage and leaving a heavy bleed behind, you need to quickly bring everyone above 90% health to remove the Bleed. Ofc DPSers can and should help by poping defensives and/or using healing potions or healthstones if needed.
But yeah I mean communicating with the DPS is good, I usually tell them to use their defensive for the 2nd one and that they might need to use a healing potion too (the first one is usually fine since I pre-rapture it and we have lust going).
Normally i would assume the tank would know that particular mechanic so i would stay still and let the tank move in front of me, But most times they panic and move from me so i would have to tail behind them to get them to block the arrow. I know tyrannical week can be a little scary when it comes to that boss, I’ve recently discovered Killing Gnash tooth First over the Shaman is primarily the way to go.
Its tough. What found is: Renew on everyone at the start. Hit damage rotation. Radiance. Damage rotation. Flash heal where needed. Radiance. Damage rotation.
I just treat it like everyone is taking damage all of the time. That way i dont fall behind.
I don’t think this is good advise for this specific encounter…
Healing wise this fight is all about dealing with Gash Frenzy quickly, to do so you should be preparing for this particular moment and committing most of your resources to it, then you get a full minute where not much healing is needed and you can kind of DPS and make sure you are ready for the next one.
You do indeed want to open up strong since the first Gash Frenzy comes like 5s in so pre-shielding everyone with Rapture into a combination of PW:Radiance and your full burst is indeed a good way to handle it, but once you get everyone to above 90% (which removes the bleed) you can now relax a little bit and start banking your stuff for the next one.
