lol i remember that very well actually, iirc he actually had stated something about it not being social being on a FP going to the dungeon while going to the bathroom, and honestly on PVE realm most of the time it really wasn’t, a PVP realm, probably a little more due to having to dodge other players possibly.
Though yah, I really thought he was always referring to the version that was in Classic already, not what we got in Wrath, I’m sure he can clarify if it makes any difference to anyone.
1:1 recreation? What iteration? The one wherein the boat at Menethil dropped you in the fatigue area and you either died or hearthed? Sure that was bugged code, no one wants that. My point is there were changes made all along. So where do you draw the line?
People definitely do. Does everybody? no.
I remember leveling in the Wetlands and falling through the ground. I died and when I released my ghost started to die of fatigue and it kept killing me over and over again. I ticketed a GM and they teleported me to a bunch of different zones; when I was teleported to Tanaris, all the NPC’s started to fall through the ground with me.
Eventually he got me out of the ground and I asked him if I could have some silver to repair my gear, he kindly told me no and that was that.

Well said. Couldn’t agree more. I too want the authentic experience, hardships and all. I don’t know why people are asking for changes… even the small changes will change the experience. But, it sounds like Blizzard is committed to authenticity, so let’s hope they stay on that path.
So far the only feedback they seem to be listening to is feedback that will actually make the game better while staying within the bounds of what Vanilla was.
This gives me hope.
#NoChanges
Good Post, as a side note, i have always thought a rather simple No was fine for a response to all the Threads asking for Changes…i even had it a little wall of No in just about every language copied to my Clipboard for easy Copy-Paste replies
Just wait a second here. The people asking for these things are not the same people asking for legacy servers before they were confirmed. When people were asking for vanilla servers ever since cata there wasn’t ONE post I saw asking for changes to it to make it more ‘palatable’. These are the people who are jumping on the bandwagon after it has become a confirmed thing and are now just trying to get in there tweak to make it ‘better’ for them.
Those of us who really want classic knows these people should just be ignored.
Edit: Another necro thread… why?

Truth. A lot of people that are now on the bandwagon, posting in this forum, were never part of any movement to get this project to happen. That’s why you see all of the BS.
Ah, yeah, a necro. I assume to stir up some drama.
I have no idea who Brack is. All I know is I’m getting sick and tired of everyone telling me I don;t know what I want or I’ll get bored of Classic WoW. I’m sure a lot of kids will, I’m sure a lot of adults that prefer modern WoW or modern MMOs will. This isn’t for them. Its for people like me who have been disgusted with WoW since cataclysm.
Please, please stop telling me what I want or thinking you know what I really want. I’m in my 40s. I’m a grown up. I know exactly what I want. Would I prefer BC over classic? Sure. But I’ll take Classic 8 days a week over any new MMO.

Yeah because people who don’t want changes have no reason to make threads besides “Please no changes”.
The people who want changes are the ones who have options on the type of thread they want to make. The no changes crowd have only the option of replying to those threads with “no”.
There’s nothing else for the no changes crowd to talk about, they have barely any reason to be on these forums.

Private servers are good, but classic is going to be way better.
With classic wow we will have individual servers for our regions, which means mostly everyone will be speaking the same language which is a HUGE barrier on private servers.
We don’t want private servers to be the go to for classic wow, the economies are screwed up due to moderators producing a crazy amount of gold and selling it to gold websites, you also have the constant fear of losing all you progress from the private server shutting down, also one of the worst thing is GLITCHES! Countless glitches that aren’t fixed because there isn’t a team of dedicated people that are fixing them like blizz will be.
I once sat in the dk starting area for 2 days because an npc was bugged that you had to kill to move forward. how ridiculous is that? We should all be hoping badly that classic wow does well and we wont have to revert back to private servers.

First off, this thread deserves to stay relevant until release. gotta bump.
Take a break my dude. I am about to leave the forums for the net 2 weeks. it has been complete cancer today, and it doesnt help that every 12 year old wants to post something like “ok no changes BUT how about LFG xD” and thinks he is so edgy and cool for doing so. This is a terrible time where immature people who cant handle their emotions have to wait 2 weeks for something they are really excited about and it is going to all boil over here. Im gonna love the game, youa re gonna love it, NOTHING is changing becaus ethe phases are all set and ready to go it is just a matter of time. this is gonna be fun. leave this place for a couple weeks.
Thank you for the well thought out reply. I feel the same way. What I would love to see happen is
1.) Blizzard to keep the Classic servers the way they are. IMO Vanilla WOW is one of those landmark games like Pac-Man . It was a game that changed the industry forever and the original version of the game should be preserved. No changes of any kind now and forever.
2.) Open seperate Classic + servers. Many have their own ideas about what that would entail, but for me I’d be happy with keeping the game the way it is except for improved graphics and adding more content. It would be nice to play an MMO where I can enjoy expansions without having to relearn or switch classes due to nerfs.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
