Hi,
I completed a bountiful T11 waterworks delve and used a delvers bounty. The “Hidden Trove” chest says its locked in red text and wont let me open it.
I saw some people facing similar issues with the chests and they suggested relogging. Ive relogged, closed and reopened the game and switch characters about 5 times. Still cant open the hidden trove chest.
I dd this on my mage this morning, then whilst waiting for a response to the ticket, I did the same run on my shaman. Same issue. Neither character can open the hidden trove, even though I have the delvers bounty used and the buff in the buff bar. Almost an hours work of effort now which should have been 54 guilded crests, instead ive only got 14.

I had that earlier too, and logged out multiple times after reading comments on another thread where they said it potentially fixed the issue. Still had no luck and redid Tier 11 delves multiple times and still had the Hidden Trove locked with the Delver’s Bounty buff still active.
Just now, I finished Excavation Site 9 and still the same problem. Logged out at the treasure spot, deleted my cache folder and relogged back in and I could now open the chest for the rewards. No idea if that was the fix or just coincidence.

Sidestreet bugged for me, no amount of logging helped.
Deleted the cache and it’s fixed, thank you!

when this happens does your bounty buff get consumed or is it only consumed when you open it; e.g. can you immediately do another run and get the bounty and have it not be bugged or not? wondering incase this happens to me.
Deleted the cache and it fixed this issue for me as well. Thank you.

So for anyone having this issue. I seemed to have found the fix. Delete your wtf and cache folders. This was happening to me across multiple toons from one day to the next. After multiple attempts restarting the game and removing any addons I finally went to deleting those two folders and I was able to open up the Hidden Troves again. Keep in mind key binds and other settings are going to reset to default.
Thanks for your suggestions guys. Deleted the cache folder and all good now.
One thing I did notice is the bugged run from yesterday didnt get recognised. I looted the bountiful chest and got the 7 guilded. Today it wasnt saying ive looted any guilded. Good way for farming guilded crests if you come across the bug and have a stash of coffer keys.
(Doesnt look like blizzard are doing anything about it as I opened a ticket and a GM told me to post here for the team to respond. Looks like they just want to hand ball it to the community to sort out.)
Gosh. Thanks. Deleting the cache folder did nothing. Logging in out multiple times did nothing. Swapping was no help. Deleting the WTF folder, did something indeed. The cache is still not accessible, but now EVERYTHING is messed up. It blows everything away, and I mean everything. Any battle pet teams that you had saved, for example. So now I am going to spend a fair amount of time, restoring what got lost, for no gain.
Just drop by to confirm just happened to me on my Evoker and I dare not touch the cache folder that probably mess up my save settings, specially my visual I can’t remember what i did to customize it so I could appreciate and see the art detail on WoW VFX/Art without that weird foggy bloom that it has that hides most details, I like my clean/clear crisp visuals… Hope there is some fix if not I guess Ill have to figure out my visual settings again…
I can’t imagine how it could mess up, players who have their whole game perfectly customize to their need with mods and settings if they delete their cache folder.
Yeah, if I had to delete my settings and start over to fix this crap I don’t know if I would log in again. There are so many customizations on so many toons I would be SUPER ticked if that is the only fix.
And now I see it does not even fix it every time. And of course, no ETA on a fix for this. If the reset tomorrow does not fix this I’m going to be major ticked.
It’s not consume, it last as long as you don’t loot the chest (not sure if it will persist after the 2 season is done, if the bug it’s not fix).
Haven’t been able to claim the chest and when Im done it persist the bounty buff… Then again I have tried to log out and in on other characters and it kicks me out resetting the delve (some people claimed this fix it for them)… so maybe it’s that too.

Ya I did a T11, and Hidden Trove Locked. Tried reloading, walking out of the room and back in, teleporting to the beginning of the delve and back in, even doing a different delve because I didn’t loose my map buff. Not technically advanced enough to try some of the suggestions here like deleting cache, wtf folder, etc. I don’t want to make a small problem bigger.
This was my concern with the previously mentioned suggestion to delete the wtf folder. I was lucky enough that deleting the cache folder fixed the issue, have no idea how anyone would fix this without wasting even more time reorganizing addons if that didnt work though.
Here’s the response I got to the original ticket:
“After taking a look, I need you to kindly issue a bug report, that’s why it is necessary to pass this through to our dev team through the appropriate channels so that they get the full context of the report, and get the chance to investigate it further.”
Doesnt look like they want to do a single thing about it as this was a couple of days ago and I havent seen anything from a dev yet. Assuming they just want the community to sort it out for them. Re sending a ticket now.

Ya, their response sounded like a “we’re not going to actually do anything about it, but go do a bug report that we may or may not see, and may or may not do anything about” and closed the ticket. I tried reopening the ticket, and asking where my stuff is. Is it really that hard to gimme a random heroic gear piece and some crests instead of sending me on a fool’s errand?

FYI, you don’t have to delete the Cache or WTF folders. You can just rename them like “Cache.old” or “Cache.bak” so you can still keep whatever is saved in the original folders just in case you need to roll back. Especially your WTF folder; that’s got a lot of information that you for sure don’t want to loose.
Renaming the “Cache” folder worked for me.

Thanks for the heads up. Going to make a copy of both folders now in case something happens in the future.
