Not sure why appearance mods would be an issue. Also, if they don’t appear to other players, how do they know they are using them?

Blizz has something called Warden that checks for that kind of thing, like how Valve has the Overwatch system for CS:GO

So for tiddies, Warden will eventually be bypassed.

Don’t underestimate the horny and thirsty Perverts.

Mostly because those same mods can be used in exploitative ways, such as making mining nod models significantly bigger for example.

The vast majority of people weren’t using these mods for that, but there’s potential (and history) of using them for abuse. Back in 2006, the guild Overrated was permabanned after using mods to effectively change the ‘mesh’ of the walls in AQ40 to go through them and skip trash to make their C’thun farming easier.

So yeah, Warden probably couldn’t tell the difference between being horny on main and legitimate examples of mods used for exploiting.

Folks that use this nekkid mod and were reinstated should still be wary. Yer on their radar now, and while something like a texture replacer may seem innocuous you gotta keep a few things in mind:

  1. They went through great lengths in the past to nulify texture replacers by deliberately changing the way the game reads and replaces them, hence this *.exe you gotta use along side the mod nowadays.

  2. It’s their IP and they have the right to protect its image. That’d be akin to someone taking your character art and tossing it into the rule 34 bin without your knowledge or permission.

  3. Their framework isn’t set up like, say, and Elder Scrolls title where you can just drag and drop textures into an override folder. Not anymore, at least. Until it ever returns to that it’s a lot to ask for Blizz to dig through every replacer mod to make sure it doesn’t include an exploit of some kind just so you can have your client-side mod that looks like someone slapped anatomically-incorrect googly eyes on your toon’s torso.

Ok yeah, everything makes sense now. Thanks for clearing everything up.
