Elementium was 100g per stack of ore - now 60g
Pyrium Bars were 40g a bar - now 20g
Volatile Air was 50g per - now 25g
Truegold was at 4k a bar - now 1k
When is a ban wave happening, thats market manipulation if you ask me

thats not just bots, thats enough people hit 85 and got preraid bis they are now working on professions, this happens every single time and will always happen, prices don’t stay high for long at all, the more miners which includes real people the quicker the price drops, same for truegold, alchemists are leveling up, all of it will drop in price and guess what it will never ever return to the prices of launch ever agian.
So you want “bots banned” because you believe they are responsible for adjusted prices on materials after the launch hype…
Dude who wants to pay 4k for a bar of true gold???!!! Lol🤡
or maybe because people have maxed out their professions in time for raid and dont need these anymore on top of other players having farmed a bunch of them? Hello?
Dude was a loot Goblin and wanted to keep raking in the gold… Became too comfortable charging way too much.
I don’t know about you but I don’t like losing gold to AH fees and wasting my time relisting my unsold items, so I undercut to make sure my stuff sells.
They were 4k at launch
ITT: OP learns what supply and demand is
Bots are affecting things, sure, but not nearly as much as you think they are. Prices will naturally be driven down from day 1 as more people max their professions and increase the supply. You’re kidding yourself if you genuinely thought Truegold was going to stay at 4k for more than a few days at best
Because the raiders, getting their pre raid bis items were buying them.
Now that raids are out, and everyone bought the things they needed, the demand for your crap is lower, so the price follows.
Not to say bots didn’t help build an oversupply, they did.
people made 10 alch alts because youtube told them to
I made so much gold.
The issue is now that materials are lower it’s time to make gold off alch raid consumes.
The supply of those will continue to be used all of Cata.
Make a potion master like I did.
Farm herbs and instead of selling them make mana pots, volcanic potions and Tolvir potions.
The best selling potion for me is Tolvir, they are like 19g/ea.
So? That was then… Now you ain’t getting no 4k ya loot Goblin…
Sounds great. What server you on?
bots suck, yeah, but they’re prooobably not why this is happening
prices drop naturally as time goes on, and as less and less people need something
new things will always be expensive until it isn’t new anymore and people move on to other stuff, yknow?
Incoming: “It’s normal and intended, we will defend our botting to the death, good sir! We know what’s causing everything wrong with the game, but we don’t care, as long as we’re makin gold and sweating more, all good”.
I believe the cause is that players have millions of gold in classic. The gold cap in classic vanilla was 250k, a mage in my guild at the time had multiple characters at the cap before BWL. It wouldn’t be hard to buy everything under a set value then relist them at 200% profit. More gold=less value of gold. Also you can take California minimum wage laws for example: raise minimum wage to $22 an hour it will cause the value of the US dollar to diminish. A Big Mac is currently $22 dollars in California.
damn i was just able to make truegold last night
it’s like 960g now lol
Luckily it’s fluctuating around 2k on my server for the time being, so I’m still managing a fairly tidy profit on it
I guess the supply is now more than the demand… It happens.
Yes they are. Go to Twilight Highlands or Abyssal Shelf at any time of the day. You’ll find unguilded people with random names like “huwangmaotai” and “suendyhk” infesting nearly every portion of the zone. The exact same thing happened in WotLK. There was ~ a one week grace period where the botters hadn’t leveled up yet, then BAM they are EVERYWHERE and the price of gathering becomes so low it becomes not worth the time to even gather anymore. It’s clearly visible to anyone that’s being honest and actually goes out into the world(something the city dwelling raid loggers don’t do), and it’s bad for the game.
