Bots farming/Hacks farming vs Players farming

It is legit that players farming gold should get banned for exploitation.
It is true that Blizzard’s been banning those accounts whose owners are exploitatively farming gold and items with hacks or scripts in game. Fly hackers and bot hunters in open areas (espcially those with a boar pet) are legit to get banned, but what about mage players? Mage is of the most efficient farming classes, so they farm a plethro of gold without a doubt. Does a mage who constantly farms gets to be banned then? Is there a clear-cut like what is the maxixum hour time you can farm for per day so not to get banned or to violate the game rules?
I got two characters, war+mage. I farm gold with mage and feed my war toon, and I’ve been worried about if my mage gets banned even if it is a ban by mistake. Anyone knowledgeable enough to answer my question?

What are you talking about?

You only get banned if you bot/hack. You do not get banned for being at your keyboard, pressing keys just because you are farming gold.

If your using any exploits then yes you should be banned, it shouldn’t matter if your a player or a bot.

Yes. All Mages and Hunters with boar pets should be banned.

Clearly.

Back in Cata I was farming ore in Uldum and had a GM whisper me. It turns out, someone saw me making my loop and I had gotten so in the zone with flying that same path around and dropping mount to mine ore then remounting, that I appeared to that person to be a bot. So, they reported me and the first step, according to the GM, was to reach out to the character for a response. Had I not responded at all, or had my response not made sense given the questions being asked, the GM would have flagged my account for suspension and a possible ban.

I don’t know if they still do this or if it is even necessary as they likely have better methods to evaluate these issues. However, it makes sense to do a one to one personal check to see if there is any reason to doubt the account. So, I’d assume you would get some opportunity to defend yourself, unless they look at your activity and see nothing to be concerned with.
