I rarely am not able to find nodes despite seeing these bots teleport around and now DR to nodes, but then sometimes amusingly fly into mountains. They don’t impact me negatively that much, but they do provide entertainment sometimes.
Ah, so my alts
Sometimes it’s not that obvious. But for a while now there have been lots of bots that everybody can spot with a quick glance. I’ve already explained this a few times in other topics.
Weird character names like “Éôíïålǫøâä”, so it’s harder to search for them or write an e-mail to Blizz (because you can’t report them anymore when they’re not your target), level 1-5 and most of the time standing in Booty Bay or old Darnassus. Logging in, reposting a few items, log out and log back in exactly 3 minutes later. Repeat. That’s how lazy bots have gotten and they get away with it. It’s sad.
lol I haven’t even tried to gear any alt and none are in greens. Failed response.
Ya this Morning I was farming dirt and Packs in Azure Span and man they were all around me. I feel somewhat angry at Bliz for not being on top of these things.
i don’t farm nodes. i benefit from cheaper AH prices on those mats. seems like it makes my experience better, not worse?
Ive never once seen a bot in DF
The ones I haven’t played since Legion or longer are in abysmal gear. I am absolutely allowed to go back and see if I still hate playing a rogue or druid, or to use them purely for gathering.
I play a lot, and almost never see bots. I do occasionally, and I’m certainly not saying they don’t exist. I probably am just not good at identifying them, but when people say they see them ‘everywhere’…i don’t know.
I would have to agree with you on the “I don’t know if they are everywhere” bit, but I do occasionally run into them, like last night. Working on some quest in waking shores and had an army of at least 5+ moonkin druids low health all from farstrider server just spam farming the elementals by the female draenei quest giver.
Made it a pain in the butt for me to finish the quest, do in part battling to tag a mob before moonfire and treants spam got them first.
The hacks team that handles botting is NOT the same team that develops the game. They are completely unrelated to each other.
That said…I haven’t seen a single bot in the almost 2 months I’ve been back. Yet.
Your 1 random data point does not a trend make.
What even is your point here? Some sort of silly “gatchya” post? Are you seriously going to try to argue bots aren’t a major negative issue that directly impacts personal gameplay??? Who would even take such a stance???
Speak of the devil:
Node bots aren’t the only type of bot in this game. And even if they were, do you really like seeing your game world spammed by bots? What kind of healthy MMO is that??? Your argument boils down to “Because I do not see the bigger picture and how it impacts me, it therefore doesn’t and I’m happy”. That’s what you’re saying. SMH.
There is no argument here. Your narrow-minded perceived notion that you get cheaper AH mats does not make bots a good thing. Not in any way shape or form. Not if you aren’t interesting in shutting down the game anyway.
Once I again I say:
Never thought I’d see it. But here we have it ladies and gentleman. 2 actual humans who either see no evil, hear no evil or actively is happy that bots are a thing since it benefits them in one very narrow minded way. I don’t know which is worse, the ignorant one or the one actively happy about the bots. This is sad.
This doesn’t mean what you think it means. They’re sending you an automated response to encourage you to keep reporting. It would be a major invasion of privacy if they were actually informing you who had what action taken based on your report.
Blizzard has no incentive to do anything about botting. Not only does botting keep player income down by flooding the market with current mats and results in increased token sales to players who need gold to pay the expenses whose cost Blizzard has set to be high enough to require that. But it also is a big income stream all by itself.
There’s rpers that do weird character names so thats not a good indicator.
When I played Aion the bots would have character names like aaghgjkdfh and tge like so that way you could tell who was botting and who wasn’t.
When Albion Online cracked down on bots, all the 24/7 fishing bots with names that had random letters and numbers disappeared.
Two different departments my dude.
I’m not sure if the OP is including speed spawn campers, but I had a couple groups of these players just keep killing the quest NPCs I had to talk to over and over. I couldn’t even get the quest window to open up when clicking one. So I reported them. Within 10 minutes they were all gone.
Point of the story? Blizzard does look into these things, and even resolves them when possible. I’m sure it’s not a perfect system, but they aren’t sending player initiated reports to /dev/null.
so you’re telling me the 10 identical messages I have in my mailbox aren’t personally written by a GM?!?!
I dunno dude, the message saying “action has been taken as a result of one of your recent reports” sounds like it’s pretty clear action has been taken. Also haven’t seen those bots farming in that area again
stay cynical I guess.
Just you wait. With old flight coming it will be worse.
