Park a GM next to a node in Zaralek cavern.
The bots are SO BAD down there. I literally watched one fly into a rock for 3 min before correcting itself.
They all follow the same path, and do the same weird maneuver when they stop at a node.
I feel like this whole “We ban in waves” is an excuse to make some money off the bots for a while and also appear like something is being done about it.

Ah yes, impart unto us your infinite wisdom, o great armchair developer!
Surely the truth you profess is absolute

Do we even still have GMs?

So the reason why they don’t do that was explained perfectly by Thor
simple effective and funny

We do, regardless of what anyone thinks. Make sure you report the bots.
Personally was just poking fun at the “I know how to solve this issue” stance.
Report issues you see, GMs investigate and take action where applicable.
I haven’t seen any forever. And when contacting CS about it, couldn’t get an answer for a problem that GMs would typically handle. CS btw seem like bots now too. They have a very ChatGPT way of responding since Microsoft outsourced the department.

You will never “see” a GM in game anymore, hasn’t been a thing for years.
And yes they use more templated responses, I don’t like it but they still are human GMs responding. You can see them in the customer support forum section responding where possible as well.
It’s not that you randomly come across them. It’s that they’d contact you after you contact CS about a big problem.
Those templated responses should be better at recognizing the reason for the ticket like they use to.
I’m sure there are some real people there. None of the responses I’ve gotten since the massive layoffs seem like it though.
Btw still haven’t gotten my raid loot that should have been mailed to me months ago. Because the response to my message was that they thought I had deleted the item. No matter how much I clarified they still thought that.
Nah it’s a dumb philosophy to try to give the bot makers a bad financial day at the cost of letting bots run rampant 90% of the time. It’s clearly not enough to deter them and just makes the game worse than banning immediately.

Well the goal with the ban waves is to modify the anti bot wnc cheat detections system through several changes. Which hinders their ability to keep cheating and botting for like a month or two until they figure out how to circumvent all the changes they made. If they just errantly ban people and botters then it makes it much easier for the developers of the bots and cheats to figure out why their bots or customers are getting banned.
Now I do think blatant botting and cheating through rotation bots should just be an automated ban. Yet at the same time I do understand why blizzard does ban waves.
if you ban just a couple though, they talk to one another and find out how they were caught and the problem doesn’t correct itself. IF you ban the whole lot of them in one chunk they have a harder time finding out what got them caught.

Actually, a big part of why they don’t do what OP is asking for is it would require a large department of employees 24/7 to keep it running. That would cost a massive amount of money.
This weekend I saw a bot-infested hyperspawn at the location of a world quest in…Revendreth of all places.
Sounds about accurate to me.
The alternative is spending money to proactively police bots. Where under their system of choice they can spend no money, rely on player reports, and then soak up bot subs until they ban them in a wave.

You think they have money for GMs to sit around?
blizzard probably operate most of the bots now and are making a killing of it by selling the gold them selves

There is a non-zero chance that was me. I’m not a bot I’m just watching House M.D. while I farm.

Oh this crap again.
Botting will never end. There will never be total solution to bots (Well, not without taking some pretty draconian measure that will just piss off most players)
It is a arms race. It will always be an arms race.
And, yes, one of the tools used is to make it so financially painful for bot creators that it is no longer worth the effort.
So you think they should have thousands of gms just park a character in a place to watch something? There are many servers, with many shards going so it’s a lot of Zaralek’s out there.
This was entertaining.
