Bots behaving irratically, inviting me to group, talking to me in chinese, then kicking me

This is the weirdest bot/gold farmer behavior ever. I mean I usually don’t complain about bots, I just report them and move on, and I’ve always rolled my eyes at bot posts in the past because of course there’s bots, but holy Elune this is a whole new level of insanity.

The world is 50% bots, not exaggerating. Everywhere I walk half the players are bots/gold farmers with names like Fsgdjd or Kikelekikaidofo or something odd, usually hunters with pets with chinese names, sometimes other classes with garbled names.

What made me make this post isn’t just the sheer number of bots, but their new and very oddly disruptive behhavior. Aside from hogging resources and tags, they’ve begun inviting me to groups, putting it on FFA, and trying to trade me. Some try to talk to me in chinese, then kick me from the group.

They’ve begun spam inviting me and are using more natural sounding names. I was LFG for a quest in Elwynn when someone invited me and throws it on FFA. I get there and realize it’s all gold farmers with chinese named pets and they’re talking in chinese. They all sent the same sentence in chinese to me followed by my char name, then I swiftly got removed from group.

It’s obvious that these bots can’t tell who is or isn’t a bot and are hoping to find their cohorts and if we don’t pass the chinese test, we get booted from group.

The last 3 groups I tried to get this quest done with were ALL bots/farmers speaking chinese and keep interfering with my ability to even play the game. You can’t avoid them anymore, they’re outright invasive and no longer just staying in their own lane. They’re out there inviting random ppl to groups to mooch off of them.

I know blizz doesn’t like to remove bots too fast because it makes them $$$ to have them subbed, but dear god this is abyssmal… This is unplayable in some cases.

As mentioned yesterday, I was invited 16 times into a group by several gibberish nameplates. I had to put those names on ignore just to stop getting those invite pop ups. Exploring more and with the help of another player on the forums, we’ve concluded that these were bots running in the location I was at. Tell Tell sign of a bot: Typically plays a rogue and due to the connection etc… the rogue stutter steps while running sort of missing that fluent smooth motion. Be aware of this and report if you see anything like this. use the “Player is Cheating” option when reporting.

Blizzard simps will defend this

My guess is it’s a way to get around reporting. Blizzards bots that review the bots see you joined a group with them and just assume it was a false report out of anger or something.

I can’t even quest anymore, there’s just 20 bots all trying to do the same quest - every quest. I can’t even get tags, there’s so many this feels like launch day.

Yep, they’re literally spawn camping. There are more bots than players online right now.

which server…?

This is almost unplayable, I’ve tried layer hopping, there’s just thousands on every layer. Elwynn forest is a JOKE!
