And if you want an alt for farming… who the hell cares if it’s boosted? seems like a cheap way to bypass leveling from 1-58 and you wont be running any dungeons to crap on them bc u dont know your class/ie muscle memory that builds up over the levels.
On retail side, I leveled every class to 110… er… now level 45. And my login window shows the same 2 free boosts I got from expansions years ago that I have never used.
mine does also. I have never had anything against the free boosts. i just never felt like doing it. Not until tbc classic. I guess it is becasue i don’t feel like i am playing the same wow game. Its more like im playing the expansion. So i want my time spent in tbc content. If they make wotlk, i doubt i will continue playing. To many easy changes that could be made that they are not doing so i am pretty sure im done with this classic stuff after tbc.
but if i did continue, If i decided to reroll to another classs, i would absolutely use the boost. For the same reason. i would only be joining wotlk classic to play the wotlk content and want to get right into it.
Bots really are a pain. It’s almost impossible to find resources, it feels like a bunch of vultures picked everything clean. Especially bad are herbs, mana thistle and terocone are essentially non-existent unless you buy them from the 3 or 4 ppl who list them on the AH.
It’s actually called the EULA, not the TOS. In spirit, they’re alike, but there are technical differences between them. You can read more about it here:
Regardless of the EULA, there’s also something called the In-Game Code of Conduct. The CoC throws a wide net over a variety of behaviors that could be categorized as inappropriate, determinable by the player-base at large.
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/42673
What this means is that if the majority of the player-base considers an action to be inappropriate, then Blizzard will take action against it.
For example, dispelling World Buffs is not a form of harassment. However, if enough players came forward and said, “This needs to stop because it’s ruining our fun!” Then Blizzard would be obligated to do something about it.
1st guy was probably right. EULA’s tend to focus more on protecting IP than “conduct” and are legally enforceable, at least in theory. This could fall under a EULA violation if it could be shown they are modifying the client (which most of them do) in order to facilitate botting, especially if they’re then selling that modded version for $$, but automation by itself would be a TOS not a EULA violation.
but if the prices of everything has dropped, you don’t need as much money. Once you get fast flight everything else will be dirt cheap. (you know, because farming has dropped the prices of everything)
EDIT: just speaking to this one thing. I agree that botting is a major problem and they should do something about it.
I’ve already answered this question a few times to be honest, but there’s other stuff than just epic flying that requires raw gold. The cost of Nethers for rare recipes won’t drop that much for instance. Respeccing is a big one, for me personally anyways. 100g everytime I want to make gold isn’t a joke. It prevents me entirely from just casually farming for a couple hours after raids finish up. If I only have two hours to grind then I’d have to spend one of those hours strictly grinding the gold for the respec, and the profit would be the other hour. That’s cutting my profits in half because what, I’m a healer? I dunno.
But it just boils down to like, I wouldn’t have this problem if it wasn’t for bots and Blizzards refusal to take them seriously.
