Bots are everywhere!

I would like to open a discussion about the excessive amount of bots that are running around. It was bad enough I had to see 10 druids in a row mining and herding in various places but now I see them doing the same thing with the tuskar lockboxes. This crap needs to stop, I am getting tired of reporting these various bots constantly. There needs to be a program that finds and bans the bots the same day. The herbs/mines are for players not for bots to enrich themselves.

I tried reporting them, but so many of them land and gather, then take off quickly I can’t get 1/4 of them.

Also they have a 2nd bot mounted up on them. They must love dragon riding. 2 seat mount that you can gather stuff on.

Blizz says they add things to the game as a gold sink, but if they cared about gold in the market they’d remove the wow token and go on a hunting spree for all bots.

It sucks. I wanted to gather stuff and gave up after every node I’m attempting to get to fades away. They have so many going around it’s hard to gather a lot. You can get some, but still.

I saw a community in game for hunting bots. It only has one member though so I didn’t even bother. If a bunch of people would join it though and go mass report bots then players could finally start hurting them since Blizzard won’t. Just search communities for like ‘bot’ or ‘report’. Someone needs to start something, there’s plenty enough people across reddit and the forums that care enough about the issue and would probably join up.

I’ve only seen the result of mass reporting done with language reporting, it resulted in a disconnect followed by silence for a week or so. I can’t imagine the bot and/or cheating mass report option wouldn’t result in an instant ban. It’d be stupid if not. It’s that simple though.

I’m seeing the same exact people for weeks. I report them every single day and they still going. There’s a single hunter bot running around in a field in Ohn’ahran that I’m so tired of seeing every time I fly past there. It’s beyond obvious if you follow it’s pathing and it gets stuck on rocks often but has some method to correct itself after 5-10 seconds. I tried making a group in custom since he’s so close to Valdrakken but no one joined. Zone chat is also worthless.

It’s really no point in talking about it anymore. It’s talked about to death and our complaints are ignored just like our reports. I liked herbing/mining because it was relaxing but I don’t even do anymore because of the bots. I’d be happy if they just got them out of current expac zones. Let them farm instances and ruin the economy that way. I wouldn’t even care if I just didn’t have to see them.

The only solution is to form a community for mass reporting bots. You can say ending your subsciption is a solution but not enough people will to make Blizz care. You can say stop buying gold but the majority of this gold is likely being bought by people that can’t afford to play wow at regular prices. The botters are using real money and paying full price to Blizz. It’s money that Blizz would not have otherwise. I really don’t think they want botting to end, they are banning at pace that keeps it profitable for botters. Botters have good months and really good months but they always make enough profit where stopping is never even considered.

Mass-report insta bans is all we can do. There’d likely be a lot of casualities but I’d be interested in seeing Blizz’s response. I bet they’d hire an in game GM to crack down on a bot mass report groups citing the false reports as their reason way faster than they’d bring one to clean up bots.

They have to be banned immediately to either make them stop or get them the hell back in Iron Docks out of player’s eyes.

Zaralek Cavern is loaded with them. Even if I’m not trying to mine and just doing WQ and rares it’s terrible to see.

It’s a real pain in the neck when they land & burst an ‘Overgrown’ herb or a ‘Living’ ore in the Emerald Dream – Don’t bother to mine or herb the elemental, then just fly off.

It’s like: “Yo!? I was gonna elemental overload that and you ruined it for your bot to bug out & fly off!”

I would love for more ban waves to happen concerning bots. Problem is, it’s too lucrative for them.

Yea but the ore sell for peanuts and no one buys that stuff anyway lol

I must be oblivious. I’ve seen a small swarm of bots come down to a plant I was at once and only once.

A lot of the time I read stuff on these forums about in game stuff, and I wonder what game I am playing that I never see any of it. I’m not saying it isn’t happening. Not at all. I’m more curious where I am when I am supposed to be in game.

I actually wonder if the bots are outnumbering the legitimate subscribers at this point.

I can’t wait till the cash shop starts selling botting services. Just a matter of time.

Yeah, its the same for me. I’m sure they’re out there but I feel like I actually saw them more in previous x-packs.

Said it before, just monitor the time activity moving. Humans take breaks, if only for 5 minutes. And from my observation, bots never stop. That’s something AI could easily monitor.

Of course if people stopped buying the items that the bot’ers are selling then there would be no market or use for the bots.

People are never going to stop using bots as long as there is profit for the one doing it. If Blizzard wants to fix the problem then in my opinion they need to change their tactics.

As they seem unable to stop the number of bots perhaps they should go after the selling mechanism. Make it so you can only sell your goods to other players in your guild, friend’s list, war band, or through a work order.

Not saying this will fix the problem and I am sure this will cause another group of issues but it is just a thought.

they sit for a bit if they run out of vigor
edit: it would be easy to program the bot to take breaks btw

I never mine ZC because of the bots. If I need glowspores, I farm the gold, and spend it on glowspores instead.

And how would I do this? How do I know when I’m at the AH buying stuff for professions, that the person I’m buying from is a bot or not?

So you want to delete the Auction House?

They aren’t there for the ore, they’re there for glowspores and rousing.

I’ve noticed quite a few fishing bots while flying around waiting on queues. Always with islefin dorado lures! I like to sit on their fishing bobber and see them target me then cast over and over again :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
