Arcane crystals are in an absolute free fall. They have dropped 3g in the last 5 minutes. There is another post showing a mage hacking DME on reddit. They are all over ZG as well. We need to demand change. The open world mining is even being botted hard and few legit people any more. Bots getting all the lotus this was my hedge to be able to afford them and now I can’t get lotus and no one can sell crystals. The bots absolutely have us by the nuts.

Its become clear that Blizz dont give 2 craps about bots.
Will they care when people run out of gold and can’t afford consumes anymore and quit because they can’t afford to raid?
Thats exactly the situation im facing. I just cant make enough gold to pull my weight in the raid.
I have 4 people farming almost all day just to support 3 raiders, 1 being a healer that has few consumes available. With that many farming we can usually pull enough for the elixirs, oils, and potions but we have to buy 6 lotus per week at 90g each since they are impossible to get. The average of 2 crystals per day along with thorium and stone was covering this. Now I need 4 crystals per day which isn’t a big deal but in the race to the bottom I’ve only sold 4 crystals this week and have 10 in my bags that have expired on the AH 3-4 times due to the amount coming out of the bots. Buying gold is quickly becoming the only alternative to quitting due to the total control of the resources by the bots. I won’t buy gold so my guild is risking 3 of the top ranked players on the server not being able to perform as expected.
There was rampant duping on TCG items in retail still don’t know if its fixed. Blizz doesn’t really care about any of this kind of stuff.
This is how blizzard gets a cut of gold selling in classic. Blizzard tolerates bots for a period of time, bots buy server transfers blizz makes $$$, blizz bans bots, bots make enough $$$ to buy new accounts and blizzard makes money off the new accounts.
It will never get fixed it has always been a problem and blizzard wont fix it cause it makes them $$$.
So? Just stock up on AC while the price drops since you need them for naxx. Buy them now, wait till naxx, use them yourselves or move them at the new higher price.
If you are farming AC and don’t want to lose a fat 10G per auction, horde them until the price goes up. If you have to sell for gold for consumables, farm elemental earth instead right now and stack your ACs.

The problem with consumable prices is caused by a scarcity in herbs created by mega servers. Herb spawns should be increased dramatically on mega servers to compensate. Or layering should be brought back.
You’re not going to solve that problem by removing bots. Consumables will continue to rise in price even if you banned all the bots. Consumable scarcity actually encourages botting and gold buying.
If you were really anti botting, you’d be pro reduce herb scarcity. But you’re not asking for that at all.
I’m all for that too… bots picking lotus and plaguebloom only makes the issue worse though. As for hoarding now to sell later, sounds great but people need gold now for current content.
Don’t use consumables.
if blizzard banned bots as soon as they were created, this whole thing wouldnt be a problem, but blizzard kept it going till it makes profit on both sides. but blizz wotn shut them down as fast as they are made, can they do that? yes if bliz wanted it. Because there is a link to all botters but blizzard dont care this way. would be less money for blizzard this way.

I hate the bots as much as the next man. Blizzard should ban them, with extreme prejudice.
That being said, “HEY BLIZZARD BOTS ARE MAKING ARCANE CRYSTALS AFFORDABLE TO THE FILTHY CASUALS, NOW MY GUILD TAKES 42 MINUTES TO CLEAR AQ40 INSTEAD OF 39 MINUTES, WAAAAAAAAAH” is a pretty bad look.
Up until this moment I have never even considered not hating the bots. A single post by a sweaty neckbeard who plays 80 hours a week and thinks blizzard owes him a baseline price of at least 100g per arcane crystal is all it took to make me reconsider my position.
you are nuts if you think people are going to just not use consumes… As a tank they are required to not get 1 shot by many bosses and others are not going to intentionally gimp themselves.
If you are farming “2 crystals per day along with thorium and stone” (14 arcane crystals per week!) and still can’t afford your raid consumables, you sir, and not me, are nuts.
AC are a terrible investment for naxx. Yeah some classes will need 20 per set, but guess what? people arent going in there and instantly getting full sets, its not 2 pieces of tier per bosses like MC/BWL/AQ, its ONE piece
not to mention all the people who arent even going for tier and simply quitting after killing KT because thats the end of classic, nothing left after that.
People most likely wont even buy the AC anyway since its such a slow drip feed of tier, they could probably jump run for 1 AC a week and come out 20 weeks later for the set
And Naxx attunement? Either you pay the 2x for revered or you get massive rep out of the scourge invasion event that the fee is free
If you could read you would see that I am talking about what’s needed for 3 raiders. We all pool resources. They pick plants for consumes and I mine for gold to buy the lotus and plaguebloom.
So in addition to the 14 arcane crystals, thorium, and stone, you also have 2 people spending 40-60 hours a week herbing, and you still can’t afford your consumes?

But you’re a mage. You play the one class that is best suited to combat this kind of thing.
Find a new farm. Not sure if by 4 people farming all day you mean you have 4 accounts? If so that’s super easy to make gold. Find a new farm, maybe ele earth in Maraudon or essence of air in silithus. There’s a lot of viable gold farming options in classic, and the more accounts you control the easier these farms are.
This is really not recommended.
Yes bots are a problem, and yes blizzard needs to do something about them. But low arcane crystal prices is something most people would welcome. Lol if arcane crystals are your main farm, then find a new farm. Don’t wait around for all the bots to get banned.
ITT: neckbeard who has a goal of hitting TBC with 50,000 gold is finding his progress impeded by the fact that arcane crystals are only 30g per.
