I’ve personally been seeing a plethora of “botnets” throughout my realm; I call it a botnet but whatever you call it, it’s a group (usually 6-12) of players that all move and function in unison, due to being controlled by the same commands/movements. These players I’ve seen going throughout Nazjatar gathering herbs (as the herbs remain for enough time so multiple players can gather it would appear), as well as various other areas and in towns. Is this not against the ToS? Shouldn’t Blizzard be able to very easily detect this? How hard can it be to pinpoint even two players that are operating in tandem? I apologize as I’m sure this topic has probably been repeated elsewhere, but I don’t know the “technical” name that’s assigned to this activity. Whatever it is, it can’t be beneficial to the economy of the game at all. More and more I see the appeal of Classic, without having tried it yet, I think I probably will soon.
/end rant
They are multiboxers and it’s not against the TOS, but be aware the “Multiboxers freedom patrol” are going to come for you now.
Hello 1 post created.
Edit: 2, technically including this one! Maybe not a bot.
Just so you’re aware, it’s one of the most complained about things in Classic, too.
It is not, no.
Each character is being controlled by the same inputs, and each game account is taking one action per keystroke inputted.
Automation is prohibited – since multiboxing isn’t automation, it isn’t against the rules at this time. While this may change, I wouldn’t expect Blizz to backpedal on this one after 16 years.
It’s about as bad on Classic, jsyk. Probably worse since no shared nodes.
Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our Terms of Use. We do not actively support multiboxing tools. For questions about setting up or running multiboxing, you will need to refer to third-party sites such as WoW Wiki.
