Both Retail and Classic Down

I cry every time I see your hood, and the red one… cos there’s no leather equivalent and they’d look so cool on my rogue.

I hope this guy goes in jail too.

There was someone posting on another thread asking that he not be sent to jail, that he just get therapy.

No, this guy and any cohorts he may have deserve jail time. He can get therapy while behind bars.

The last guy who DDOS’d Blizzard and bragged about it on Twitter and Facebook got a year in jail, so this guy shouldn’t be a bother for too much longer, unless he’s lying or distracting for the real hackers…
Remember this?

looks like they dropped all the servers, hopefully for a restart because they got it under control

looks bad with only 3 realms on the list

Looks fine… they’ll get it sorted out.

Mitigation of this level requires significant costs. Basically, think of it like this. Your house gets burglarized, so you hire a security firm to station a guard at your house. How long do you think you could afford that service?

True, Blizzard has the money. But they also have to justify the expense of that money to shareholders. If they report that it costs them $1 million USD each month for DDoS mitigation. The first thing shareholders are going to ask is: Is it necessary each month?

And no. “Every 15 year old with a Minecraft server” cannot prevent DDoS. No one can. They can mitigate; make it difficult. But a determined group can easily bring down any service. - Also, a server of that size would be much cheaper than a multi-million, multi-national corporation.

That’s the nature of the beast. If you want to provide an online service, you have to allow for a level of ‘unsecure’, or else no one will be able to connect.

Illutiankade saddly thats just what these losers hope for. People who take pride in taking the fun away from everyone else.

9/11/19
There aren’t any dates listed on the forum posts, so I don’t know how up to date they are. As of 9/11/19 I am still unable to login to server. Screen says "Logging in to server, and then I get “Disconnected…blah blah blah.” I need to know if this is what’s happening to others, and if it’s part of the DDoS attack. I have done every conceivable thing to my game, just to be sure that it is not just my game in my computer that’s bugged. As far as I can tell, it is just WoW. I am able to login to Blizzard and play Diablo, if I wish. Could someone please respond specifically to my post? Thanks.

This was on Saturday/Sunday

9/7
And
9/8 I believe

I think the DDos just targeted WoW servers.
