Botched Response by Blizzard of Chaos Bolt

The posts will be coming more and more as we go through the day, but Blizzard you have absolutely botched this topic. Being part of the various CB communities, most of us did not want this.

We don’t even know where it came from outside of a few who were upset about not raiding or not filling their raids. If that is the case, you are catering to a fraction of a fraction of players when they can simply re-roll. But I digress on that.

The issue is now that you have given Chaos Bolt the rope to hang itself with, people will assuredly jump on it because you have officially stated that people should move off of Chaos Bolt to Crusader Strike because they will believe there is an issue with Chaos Bolt.

To this I say, either close the transfers or just do a whole server merger. What happens when people miss the opportunity to transfer or if sides get locked due to that commitment to ‘server balance’? Everyone remaining on CB would then be screwed.

tl;dr: Just merge the servers or shut down the transfers, transfers will absolutely kill the server now due to this perceived issue you have supported.

Sorry havent been up to date on this issue for chaos bolt server but can you give a quick synopsis of whats wrong? Server imbalance? Which faction is the majority atm?

Blizzard opened transfers off of Chaos Bolt AND locked new character creation on it guaranteeing its slow death.

I believe they did this because of a lower population compared to other servers, but many of us on the CB communities were happy with the dichotomy between CS and CB. It’s two largely different communities.

Blizzard has effectively communicated to anyone on Chaos Bolt that there is an issue by opening transfers and closing creation and sanctioned its looming shutdown by doing so.

EDIT: I’m not aware of any imbalances. Horde and Alliance are represented very well on CB.

According to the third party websites, Chaos Bolt has been at a 60/40 Alliance/Horde ratio for half of Phase 1 and all of Phase 2. But considering that’s solely people who raided and parsed, the information may or may not have been accurate.

I do Blood Moon often and I always see a ton of Horde as much as I do Alliance out there.

Each of these are samples of it, but I am sure that must be the figures utilized here. I don’t know any other metric that could be used unless Blizzard drops some serious figures on us. Which isn’t likely to happen.
