Bot Farming is only possible because of the spawning

Just passing through Emerald Dream and saw three large groups of bots farming. Why is this still a thing after so many years? This is only possible because the game has spawns like this. What’s the purpose of having these spawn points?

This could be cleaned up in an instant if you guys cared even remotely… or this is intentional, which I’m starting to assume it is.

Yes there’s a lot hyper-spawn points, not sure if they’re bots or sometime 2x4 groups or both.

If you target any of them and have target of target on, they are switching between targets faster than a person could. They are also spinning around like an aim bot sometimes.

Just like the war on drugs, you will never stop botting until you get to the root of the problem: The playerbase itself.

If there is a demand for easily obtainable gold, players will buy it third party. If they buy it third party, bots need to exist.

Without the players who dont want to buy a token or farm the gold themselves, bots would never exist.

have you tried permabanning every bot you find?

they’ll have to buy new subscriptions every time.

might be more $ for Blizzard than for the bot.

Not when you factor in manpower and loss of subs of people tired of bots.

what if you permaban the buyer too?

you do it to a few, the rest stop buying.

Usually bots would just have random letters for names like khdakvcgg and other sort of naming.

I run into them in BFA Chromie time.

blizz rolls out their bans in large waves so that botters have less certainty in what part of their code or behavior was giving them away, they also usually time it right after they had to pay for the subscription (granted most botters have near infinite effective gold so it’s just tokens all the way down).

Banning gold buyers is almost certainly a losing move. Blizz wants Rmt, just as long as it goes through their token system

This would only hurt their revenue and it still wouldn’t work.

Or you could just get rid of the hyper spawns. Why complicate this?

Blizz got rid of gold farming from lots of the old content and yet still allows hyper spawns… makes no sense. I miss just being able to farm gold from dungeons and raids.

Because this happened before the concept of hyperspawns. Trust me, i know that for a fact. Dont ask me how though. Its classified.

I know. I have played for ages. You’re not going to ‘change’ the player base. There is nothing unique about the people that play wow. This is a design issue. Start with fixing the KNOWN issues. I.E. the hyper spawns.

What’s the purpose of whining about it when you can take it up with the devs instead?

Who’s whining about what?
