just my personal favorite and preferences, but i liked the artifact power system in Legion and the corruption power system in the end of BFA ( i didn’t like the Azerite armor at the beginning, but got more fun in the end). It was very much not perfect, but man did i have a blast using “twilight devastation” on BGs lol. Anyone have any ideas to meet in the middle, i guess right now it would be the siren isle ring for a bit.
Frankly i never have and never will understand the borrowed power complaint.
It seems more accurate to say people hate dailies or endless grinds for power. Even the purples we wear are borrowed power but no one complains about loot.

We’ve been “borrowing power” forever, never understood the overkill anger towards it
Because there were periods that specs were incomplete without their borrowed power component and that sucked.

Well yeah but even in modern wow you have multiple percentage points off of ur dps if you dont get ur proper trinkets or cantrips. That is similar but we dont use the borrowed power argument.
What actually sucks is when ur spec is designed so bad that it needs specific gear to even work.
I like “borrowed power” to be kept at a minimum. Set bonuses that aren’t so powerful they become a core mechanic of your class for the tier feel like the sweet spot for me.
Though that leads into a greater thing for me: I understand classes change over time and while I do think another Legion style revamp focused on class fantasy is in order, I got tired of them revamping classes every single expansion.
It can be frustrating to find something you enjoy only for it to be ripped away from you in the next expansion because it was part of some temporary system never intended to survive the current expansion.

Cloak of infinite potential was nice in remix. Even if it was slooooowed down it was still cool cause you were always like, well, I got something this outing. I like the hero system better than the others, but only in implementation. Everyone having a ‘unique’ legendary kind of kills it for me.
I don’t mind if it is for one expansion only. Themed for one expansion, and new expansion means new things to learn.

Cloak would have been really good if account wide. It separated the grinders from the average player but didnt override gear. I liked it.
Just didnt like that it made it impossible for me to play an alt during remix.

Remember how hillllariously broken sepulcher sets were? Just quadruple survival dps or give DKS permanent 90% parry

I would like to add to my note about a Legion style revamp:
Survival and Combat should return to their previous glories.
I was okay with BP in Legion. But BfA? Ewww no.
I tolerated it because of class uniquess which was lacking in the latter.

Turns out it didn’t matter quite as much as getting the gear maxed out first. Like if you wanted to solo roll heroics you did need to get the cloak up to like what, 500k threads? But get the gear maxed and at least you could be carried!

I do too probably my favorite compared to my other characters in S1, I wouldn’t opposed to a more pirate swashbuckler appeal I’d prefer to ditch the pistol though.
Unique borrowed power gear that is insanely powerful and stays relevant throughout the whole expansion and even scales into the next one. Then, you get another insanely powerful item to replace the previous one.
So basically, imagine every expansion having their version of Cyrce’s Circlet, but it’s actually so strong that it stays in its slot for the whole expansion + pre patch of the new expansion. That way you actually feel strong wearing it, instead of your gear being replaced every patch. Kind of like how certain powerful items in Classic were still relevant in TBC, but the modern version of it.
That would be perfect. I’m exhausted of my gear becoming junk every new patch. Stop that.

Aye, shadow priest had to have another huge rework because legion version of them was all tied to the dagger. Without it, the spec just didn’t work half as well.
