I am getting really bored of seeing the same two mounts constantly in the Dragon Isles? I think over all, the experience of Dragonriding has been a positive one on riding and speed etc… However, everyone basically on the same one or two mounts is really boring. Except for the random: “Hey I got 3 horns now! Don’t I look so much different than your mount?”
I have no real solution recommendations. I just feel like sitting on a mountain top in the Dragon Isles and shooting every Red Dragon that goes by with my Net-O-Matic 5000.

Agreed. That way, we can go ahead and skip to the next set of complaints about regular mounts being too slow and needing to be sped up to match dragon riding.

For me, not speaking for anyone else, I thought it was kind of fun at first but now I’m completely over Dragonriding.
I want to go back to my favorite mounts. I didn’t like being pigeonholed into certain mounts, like the water bug and Maw mount. Not sure why Blizzard took two steps back on this when they knew people didn’t like it in the past.
I’ll wait for regular flying before I get into Dragonflight more. No, I don’t care if it’s slower.

It’s really weird for Blizzard to dangle cosmetic rewards in front of us (mounts), and then make them pretty much unusable in current content.
Do y’all know any players who ride around the Dragon Isles on ground mounts only?

i dont see why they didnt (or cant) just take some of the mounts we have that use the same skeletons and apply them to dragonriding. the blue one (dont judge me, i dont know their names) i dont think uses the same skeletons as the drake mounts though so that maybe couldnt be used. but the proto drake? the ugly green and yellow ones? they share skeletons with a bunch of mounts. add some skins in there
and i am STILL MAD that i cant use the collector’s edition mount in DF content

Yeaaah that one is especially dumb.
Like, they even showed it in the expansion cinematic. That one should really be a full transform glyph for the Drake, if nothing else.

I dunno, I see a good spread of all four mounts in a lot of different colors and shapes now. It was overwhelmingly the (dumb and derpy looking, in my opinion) blue Highland Drake, but now that we’ve gotten into the expansion a bit I see a lot more variety.
I also still use ground mounts for just running around smaller areas if it seems just as convenient, for variety. On my druid I still use travel form quite a bit.

Ion already said they are adding normal flying to the dragon isles at some point, we just don’t know when yet.

In my opinion, they won’t do it because they have invested so much into the dragon customization system.
Players would simply ignore all of that work by using the tens (not sure how many share the same skeletons) of other mounts that will do the same thing.

I just wish dragonriding mounts turned into regular flying mounts outside the Dragon Isles for the sake of my keybinds.
I really enjoy dragonriding way more than the passive flying method but I will also acknowledge I am a big Guild Wars 2 fan. I’m used to this.
The lack of mount diversity is kinda annoying though, yeah.

Without a doubt those complaints would follow shortly after releasing regular flight. Wouldn’t need to be paid any attention though. Let a minority of people complain about it while the rest of us get to actually enjoy our mount collections again.

For all of the bugs in DF that I hate, there is one that I love, and it’s when the whelp bugs out and leaves your character air swimming next to the dragon you’re riding on.
Looks hilarious and makes me wish it didn’t turn you into a whelp at all.

I mean, OK, but what kind of unstable Karen would even notice such a thing, much less have “feelings” about it? What other people do or don’t do isn’t my business, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Are we just emulating streamers and tossing turds into every punch bowl we can find, just for attention?

I mean it was really the feature change they made to the game in DF and people needed something to pretend was breaking the mold and making everything new again.
Dragonriding was blown out of proportion in how amazing it was as a cope.

Sitting around waiting for the siege to start last night, I noticed I was on a relatively customized highland drake in a sea of players using default mount appearances.
I’m not sure if the customization system is as appealing to a wide range of players as Blizzard thought it might be.

i find myself parked in dalaran a lot, with my flying mount idle in the air. wish it was like that in the current xpac
