Bored at Work. Tinker Post!

Tinkers would be an awesome addition to the game’s roster of Classes after Evoker.

A class that can fulfill all 3 roles with unique combination of Ranged Attacker, Ranged Healer, and Melee Tank.

  • Ranged DPS: finally adding a Ranged attack class that doesn’t use Magic! Using Turrets, Missiles, and Guns to provide automatic fire and blast enemies to smithereens. Can call in a Mech for Air Strikes and rocket barrages. (Uses Guns and Intellect stat)

  • Ranged Healer: A Medic using conventional medicine and nanomachines to heal Allies. Able to fire Hybrid Shots from their Guns to Heal Allies and Harm enemies, as well as Biotic Grenades and Healing Turrets. Can Call in their Mech for Healing Fields, Shield Overcharges, and Self Defense.
    (Uses Guns and Intellect stat)

  • Melee Tank: Manually pilots the Mech suit to Fight crowds of enemies and protect themselves using energy shields and onboard repair systems: (Uses Guns as ‘stat sticks’, Intellect primary stat)

By Giving Us Evoker, Blizzard has proven that the sky is the limit when it comes to class design, we could expect just about anything from a Tinker Class.
Rocket Boots, Helicopter packs, Customizable mechs, anything really.
Blizzard clearly loves to integrate new and Unique options and mechanics to each new class.

Goblins and Gnomes are still distinctly lacking a class that fits their unique culture.

  • Goblins can’t be a single All-Role Class
  • Gnomes only option is Monk, which I wouldn’t argue doesn’t represent Gnomes unique culture.

All we can do is keep wishing, hoping and asking for them.

All the pieces already exist. We already have Races, Guns, Mech models, all sorts of stuff.
There’s even solid concepts for Expansions based around Undermine, or Gallywix, or Going deep under Azeroth’s surface.

All they would need is the Abilities and Visual effects.

It’d certainly be nice to have another attack-based ranged DPS. Since the start of the game, we’ve not only not gained one, we’ve lost one.

I think you’ll see a Tinker class in time. The base is there from a Warcraft III hero.

If added, it’d be interesting to see what they do with race restrictions. Goblins/Gnomes (both of them) Vulpera maybe? Dwarves build things? Draenei are scientific in the cosmic sense.

I want a Blood Gnome Tinker…

A tinker class, with 3 trees, would be wonderful to see.

I aslo think doing DPS/heals/tank would be pretty easy to create thematically. All sorts of spells/devices could be created as needed. From guns, lasers, bombs, mechs, force fields, temp robot summons or sentries, skies is really the limit.

You have years and years before another expansion will possibly add this, because they do not release classes back to back. And they will instead be focusing on releasing existing classes to more races. It has also been “stated” that next expansion will be the last one (a “trust me, bro, I have sources that have never been wrong” claim by someone on this forum). So you may wish to set yourself up for not receiving tinkers within this game. Obviously this is not definite, nor have I said as much, but I do not see your chances as being very good, given the historical data.

Draenei and Orcs both make good sense to me.
Go back to Draenor and run Highmaul or HFC. There’s Orc Technicians everywhere. Using missiles and flamethrowers

And Draenei have a whole social caste of artificers. Who are taught from birth to operate and repair the space fairing technology the Draenei depend on.

Up until Evoker, every class stole directly from a hero in WC3. Tinker has a Warcraft 3 counterpart. So I don’t think it’s too unlikely.
Also the “last expansion” claim seems bogus. This game literally prints money for blizzard.

Which does not have anything to do with what I have said nor counter my points. We all know this information.

That is why I amended it with what is in parentheses. But Holytemplar seems to have “inside information” that they are working on a new game and next expansion is the last. We will not know what is true. I simply wished to give as much info as possible.

I mean, I’ll be honest. I just want to be a goblin in a Mech suit.
Everyone else gets their class fantasy. Orc Shamans, Night Elf Druids, Human Paladins. But no Goblin Tinker. :triumph:

I’m not arguing with you, it’s all just conjecture at this point.

I’d play a Tinker, if added. The more races the better.

I didn’t mean to sound argumentative! Sorry, (I’m typing this sneakily at work)

Absolutely agree. I think Goblins and gnomes are obvious, Dwarves make perfect sense. So do Orcs and Draenei.
And because I love Vulpera I’d include them as well.

I gotta say, Evoker feels like it came out of nowhere and makes me even more bummed about the future of Tinkers in this ever aging game.
I was seriously hoping the micro class leak was real after they dropped the Evoker reveal.

It’s crazy how much Tinker stuff already exists in the game and we still can’t play as one.
BFA was the perfect time to launch the class imo, but Dragonflight could work since we know that some Goblins had strong ties to Deathwing and we’ve never seen their neutral city.

Tinker themed Zones, Races, Quests, Mounts. Even awesome transmog for wrenches and guns.

And of course, on Exiles Reach, all of the NPCs you meet are supposed to be clear analogues to existing classes. But there’s also a tinker!

It feels like Tinkers were legitimately on the table and they did Evokers for their dragon expansion.

But hey! An April Fools joke today, is a real addition down the line.

It has to really closely fit the theme of the expansion for blizzard to consider it. The dragon expansion made a lot more sense to add a dragon class.

Hey that’s great but vulpera.

Potentially an expansion about the Undermine? A place we’ve heard about plenty in the Lore, but never been to in game.

Or maybe an Expansion with Gallywix as the major mustache twirling villain. In a Giant City Sized Mech!

Absolutely the Vulpera. I played Ratchet and Clank going up. Vulpera as Tinkers just make sense.

If they want that theme, they can go for it. It just didn’t really fit the theme of dragons

Clearly you’re right, Blizzard loves to keep Classes relevant to the Expansion. So here’s hoping for a Tinker themed expansion.
