I’m done. Thought I’d share why in case anyone is curious why people are leaving. The only thing that was fun was leveling up and exploring the new zones. Decent solo game experience to be had there. However I play mmorpgs for the social and endgame experience.
This expansion has the most boring and uninspired dungeons I’ve ever experienced. Mythic+ is god awful repetitive and boring as a result. Raid was meh. PvP is a clown fiesta compared to what it used to be. World feels small and empty, everyone is zooming around on hyper-sonic dragons. Nobody ever talks to each other anymore.
I’ve played this game since 2004. And all I can think while playing is, this game is desperately trying to stay relevant. It’s not what it used to be, a shell of it’s former identity. I think it’s finally time to just move on.
This is why WoW feels like it’s going into maintenance mode. Blizz hasn’t innovated in years. To stay relevant, they’re going to have to borrow systems from other games—housing, delves, armor dye, etc.
I don’t understand why people get triggered when reading criticism. I personally am not bothered by it. I’m always curious why stop playing a game that I enjoy. Sometimes they may notice something I don’t, or try not to think about. It can be cathartic.
Once upon a time I’ve took 120mg of Adderall in one night, it was glorious! After that, my regular dose stopped working completely and for a week I was like a zombie. Doctor told me that I am playing a dangerous game and should not abuse it because I can hurt my self permanently. So i had to take a mandatory 2 weeks break, no meds, to readjust my brain. After that things got back to normal and now I think twice before indulging prescription meds.
I hope you got an idea how my story relate to yours.
You have a point. I just find it odd I used to be able to play WoW from Vanilla all the way through Legion without ever quitting a few months into an expansion. Maybe it’s because I’m in my 30s now and the novelty of mmorpgs has worn off?
I think it’s because they just aren’t what they used to be. They are more like a solo player rpg with social features tacked onto the side these days. This isn’t just a Dragonflight thing, I feel the same way about all the other mmorpgs out today. FFXIV, GW2, SWTOR, Lost Ark, Black Desert, Eve Online, Albion Online, etc
I’ve unsubscribed, too, though for different reasons and gave Blizzard my feedback, since you are automatically asked what the reason is. Don’t know, if the devs actually read player feedback, but whatever.^^
It is a good thing that you share your criticism. It shows that you still care, otherwise you would just go without saying anything.
Don’t get discouraged by wow white knights. Without feedback there would be no chance for improvement. I hope you will find other fun games or some new hobby
