One of my favorite memories from Vanilla was a player organized event called the Booty Bay run.
The player who organized it offered a gold prize to the first person who reached the Booty Bay entrance.
The stipulations were that all competitors started as a new lvl 1 gnome. No equipment or short cuts were allowed, only boats (if you wanted to take the menethil/ratchet route).
It was hilarious to watch players get picked off by mobs along the road and see questing players stop what they were doing as a pack of lvl 1 naked gnomes stampeded through the area.
I hope I’ll get to do something like that again. Anyone else interested or have player created events theyd want to bring back?

I remember casters from opposite faction would position themselves at the tip of the boat where Baron Revilgaz used to stand and then kill anyone who comes near and laugh at them xD

Couldn’t you just run straight through as a ghost and rez at the BB graveyard? :thinking:

I ran this event in my old guild as well, was always a good time. Recently I had a guild do this event but with the ending being the gates of AQ. That was even more epic. I finished second in 1:53 minutes and 13 deaths. I was rather proud.

I don’t believe you could rez at other graveyards. And no, that would be a cheating shortcut.

Plenty.
Gurubashi events, city raids and the one I’m looking forward the most.
Orgrimmar/SW culling by kiting world bosses, which I plan to do weekly.

As much as I would love to see that - my gut feeling is they will tether them to prevent it…

Booty Bay runs are also a great opportunity to test whether or not sharding will automatically extend beyond the starting zones at a certain threshold.

I would have peed in my pants and enjoyed the warmth of it, just to have witnessed such an hilarious event from start fo finish, unfortunately I never did.
Top of my bucket list for things to do, create a naked level one gnome.

It didn’t work. You release at the original graveyard. No matter which one you clicked.

I did an event one time where we did a naked level 1 (any race you chose) Hogger raid. That was hilarious

One other event I partook in during WotLK was an event where we had one level 80 Bear Druid walking around Dun Morogh like he was an NPC and we had roughly about 100 level 1 gnomes try and take him down…it was an uphill battle that ended in a LOT of dead gnomes, we never did get that druid down, maybe if we had 200.

Then it wouldn’t be classic, I would hope the classic devs would know better.
It makes the world feel so alive and it’s one of the many things many players always look back fondly.
