Boosts. Use them or lose them?

Do level boosts need to be used up before Shadowlands? I have a couple laying around unused.

Nope, they’ll just hang out until you use them.

No, they will stay on your account until you use them.

Level Boosts & Squishes
max bfa 120 = 50 prepatch shadowlands
trial bfa 110 = 40’ish prepatch shadowlands (50 post launch)
new bfa 1 = 1 prepatch shadowlands

BFA new/current character (before prepatch)
NEW Demon Hunter = lvl 98 bfa : 35’ish prepatch shadowlands
NEW DeathKnight = lvl 55 bfa : 20’ish prepatch shadowlands
NEW Allied Race = lvl 20 bfa : 10 prepatch shadowlands
NEW Character = lvl 1 bfa : 1 prepatch shadowlands

SHADOWLANDS new character (post prepatch)
NEW Demon Hunter = lvl 10 shadowlands
NEW DeathKnight = lvl 10 shadowlands
NEW Allied Race = lvl 10 shadowlands
NEW Character = 1 shadowlands

CONCLUSION!
Make a character NOW! demon hunters & deathknights basically get free boosted levels if you make them before the shadowlands prepatch.

They will just be restructured to a new level since the levels are changing.

110 will presumably go down to 40 or something near there.

It is a super good idea to save your boost until after we see how class balance is after SL release. Don’t use it for something that’s good now.

Yes and No.

#1 Play what you enjoy.
#2 Play what allows you the freedom to play the game mode you enjoy.

Example:
BFA fire mage is amazing at everything: pvp, raiding, & mythic+.
BFA destruction warlocks perform amazing in pvp & raidsm but poorly in mythic+.
BFA protection warrior performs amazing for M+, average in raids, and poorly in pvp.

I enjoy protection warrior… thus I play a protection warrior. Currently I relish in the fact we are also the best mythic+ tank in the game. Sadly we have not been the best PVP tank since early wrath of the lich king… however there was a moment in warlords of draenor with gladiator stance where protection warriors became the best damage dealer in game. It was crazy fun, until it was nerfed, and we were just “1 of the best” still crazy fun. ^_^. Regardless if warriors are good or bad… I will play a protection warrior, because the gameplay is fun.

Yes, but boosting based off of what is good now will only allow those freedoms and enjoyment until Shadowlands. After that, we have no idea what we are going to enjoy or what is going to be good for the game modes you enjoy.

If you want to just have fun until SL, boost now. If you want to use it to enjoy something that you know will do those things in the future, wait til Shadowlands.

Thanks all for the replies.
