Does anyone know if boosting a PTR character unlocks it for a realm of your choosing on live once Prepatch Launches?
Nothing you do on PTR comes over to live
Totally not the purpose of the PTR. What happens on the PTR stays on the PTR

No, ptr is strictly seperate. Imagine what it would be like copying your characters over and over again, and then you can buy the best mounts and items in the game, and then somehow transfer that progress back onto live.
On character creation if you hover over the “Class Trial” checkbox it says: “Create a new Level 48 Character and try it for a limited time. You can apply a boost token at any time to unlock this character permanently.”
Everything that happens on PTRs is wiped, period. Dialogs about boosts only apply to live servers.
It’s probably just because the tooltips and text menues don’t change.
On the ptr, the game shop is inactive. You can’t even pay for a level boost.
It’s called public test realm for a reason.
Yeah that makes sense. I just didn’t want to get invested in a character with the expectation I could transfer it over. Thanks.

I made a night elf huntress on the ptr and I just fell in love with her.
I’m sad to see her be wiped away forever but I will definitely remake her this coming Tuesday <3
