Boosting is killing the wow leveling experience

People came to play classic for a number of reasons but id like to discuss just one
Boosting is playing a big part in destroying the community when it comes to the leveling experience and running lower level dungeons.
The game has become all about just farming gold then paying for boosts!
Everybody knows what I am talking about and it is in my personal opinion that this is doing more dmg to the classic wow experience than LFG or LFR has ever done simply because there aren’t any players LFG or LFM to be found for lower level dungeons, not enough to fill a group anyway. It’s all about the boost :frowning:
I urge blizzard please fix this. it would be very simple, if there is a lvl 60 in the grp you will only get 1xp per kill.
This would only be applied to all dungeons below Sunken Temple. Sunken Temple and above, BRD, LBRS, UBRS, Scholo and Strat would not be in the grp of dungeons.

Mages are doing us a favor, keeping these imbeciles away from actual groups. The people buying boosts are the most braindead players I’ve ever met. Often with untrained skills and little to no interest to improve themselves until endgame, and often falling behind there too.

Mainly because they don’t have to play the game. They just buy or farm gold and pay their way to 60 getting no experience in game play along the way

Mages are the robin hoods of wow. They take money from the poor, keep it, and invest it.

you’re funny

I’m going to include you (OP) among the umbrella of “any players” NOT “LFGing” nor “LFMing”. Like you’re waiting for somebody else to do it…

Sure there is! If they’re anything like you (waiting for somebody else to say “LFG” or even “LFM”), they WILL join you, on your crusade! That is, if you do advertise.

Also, I advise advertising in places other than Trade, LookingForGroup and LFG (yes, they are three different channels). I advise advertising in Leveling Zones. Guaranteed, those who want that “Leveling Experience” (to use your words) aren’t just sitting around Trade nor LFG Channels but actually questing, out in the world.

There’s more to the “Leveling Experience” than running dungeons, all the time.

The people not taking boosts are the most braindead players in WoW. I’ve ran with them. They can barely run a Deadmines all the way through without crying over loot. They leave SM groups because the one item they wanted they lost the roll on. They cry because someone is ret or balance. Yeah, non-boosting people have shown me how toxic and cancerous they can be. Stick to your fail groups that will die long before Princess is dead in Mara.

Don’t like boosting? Ignore it. Unless the booster is hacking or botting you have no complaint to make.

If you take away boosting, you will see less players having alts at 60 but not necessarily any more for you to level with.

Players wish to maximise xp, that’s why they boost. You don’t maximise xp by wasting time pugging with new players.

What wow you automatically awesome that i don’t do that :frowning:
I in fact advertise in general, lfg, trade if im in a city and most def in the zone that the dungeon is located. The best way to find people tho is by using the who tab in social.
I’m a master at finding group and yet I am finding very dif in this time of Boosting. it is plain and simple killing the experience and be able to find or look for groups to run dungeons and elite quest like the ones in Hinterlands.

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with loot. Read the OP

True, got sidetracked.

No, this completely opposes the spirit of an RPG. You can’t get help from anyone from max level, existing players can’t help their friends who either are interested in the game or lapsed and came back with leveling, competitive guilds can’t powerlevel the classes or roles they need for endgame content - terrible terrible idea.

sure you can. invite lvl 59’s. People that are not in raid gear and would have to bring along more high lvl players to help them. This would decrease the number of slots available for the boost and increase the number of high lvl player to accomplish the boost. This would most likely increase the amount of the boost rendering out of rang and you would end up with way more grps being filled.
Look if you remember what it was like playing vanilla and why people wanted to play classic, you would understand where I’m coming from.
The current state of the game is not what classic was meant to be.

So then every booster is 59 now, and the ZF/Mara/etc mobs are still gray to them so they never have to level out of that bracket while still boosting. Great change, well thought out.

And even if you found a way to stop boosting in a way that doesn’t impact friends and guilds, you wouldn’t end up with more desperate people answering your pleas in faction cities, you would just end up with fewer people bothering with alts in the first place. No change for you.

I’ll be the first one to note that this will not be a popular subject but it is worth talking about between unbiased players.

No, it’s not.

General Chats of just cities or:

Never underestimate advertising in zones like Teldrassil, Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, Mulgore, etc. Never know who’s on an Alt, at the time.

Doesn’t list Alts. Never underestimate the power of an Alt. Don’t be afraid to advertise in as many leveling zones, as possible (whether or not they’re the “appropriate” level range or not). An Alt is an Alt. I’ve had many people Whisper me on their Alts wanting in on Dungeon Runs.

I am, too. And, if you are finding groups, I’m not understanding your problem.

Why “this time”? Why not, when it started, originally? What’s “difficult” about it, now compared to then? Give you a hint, it’s not Boosting.

I rarely see advertisements for Boosting Services in the General Chats of Leveling Zones. They clog up the Trade, Major City, LookingForGroup and LFG Chats. Those who are actually leveling, will not be in those chats. I’m certainly not having any of the LFG Chats (despite them being world wide) open, as I’m out Questing.

Getting a Group together for the Elite Quests like the Hinterlands are tough to put together 'cause we (as a community) seem to think “why advertise this in Trade?” Don’t be afraid to advertise elsewhere, just like you do with Dungeons for Elite Quests, as well. Especially the one for the Hinterlands, to help people get their Mallet, for ZF. It’s a win/win situation. You don’t necessarily need a full group for it, anyway and is perfectly achievable to be solo’d, at higher levels.

Thank god for boosters! After leveling 3 toons the hard way, including a warrior, I enjoy leveling while laughing at the BS on the forums!

Boosting isn’t going away, and people want their alts (mainly) boosted for whatever reasons.

I have an alt that I intended to boost but I’ve only half boosted it because I really haven’t been happy with the options out there. Anyway, I decided to join a leveling guild one day and that was the best choice. There are people looking for and making lowbie groups (both dungeon groups and world elite groups) all the time and because you’re with guildies you’re more likely to be kind to each other and stick it out.

So really if anyone wants a more Classic experience while leveling, at least on higher pop servers, that’s a good option.
