Nothing wrong with people queing on their alts lol, the situation becomes “questionable” when they tank 2s at 227 ilvl and completely delete people at 200ish or less at the entry brackets, now this wouldn’t be as bad if gear didn’t have 2347324732743 power gaps.
Yeah, kinda confused what you’re asking blizzard you do, OP. You blame blizzard but it sounds like you should be just mad at the people who choose to do this. I mean how would blizzard fix people playing at whatever mmr they want? I for one love doing things like hitting glad, and the. Playing with a bunch of chill friends who are great guys but maybe aren’t a super high caliber. If I can chill and talk to them, play some lower stress games, and have fun, am I like a terrible person?
SL been trash from the get go, who cares.
Are you kidding me with the “Show me exactly what you want”?! I want to not spend half my time reporting advertisements for the 50% of games that are some arena boost company, another 25% of the time sorting through people giving boosts/join my stream to enter games.
Clearly there’s a BIG problem.
The root cause is gear disparities in PvP which do a couple of things:
- Create the desire to be carried
- Make carrying easier
If you normalize gear in PvP the issue will resolve itself. I imagine some people will still want to play with a big name streamer, but it would cut down on about 95% of this. Most people don’t really care about the “experience” of playing 2’s with no named Glad #2756, they just want a geared partner to carry them to a rating milestone. Likewise most players will find it significantly more difficult to perform a carry without a gear advantage.
The obvious answer here is not having tiered gear
pikaboo is playing at 1800 mmr on his rogue carrying viewers. In no world should AWC players consistently be on their main in that bracket. The sole reason it happens is gear disparity.
Really? Because pika was at that same mmr carrying viewers like he always is in bfa and stuff as well. Everyone had max gear in bfa.
The people being carried may have different incentives to be carried but people are always getting carried. Some people want ratings just to have ratings or achieves.
Not saying it wouldn’t slow it down some but if you think it’d alleviate the problem entirely you’re mistaken.
bro im legit playing at 2.1 on my priest and 30% of my games are r1/glad/awc
if you are honestly so braindead as to not realize this is a bigger issue now than in previous expacs idk how to help you
just to help you out here, im playing the same people id play week 1/2 of bfa at 2100 as i am months into shadowland at 2100. weird
Tbf no one cares to do 2s. I don’t even wanna do 2’s. I’d rather just help people get rating they want than try to seriously do 2s lmao.
This is that PvP content everyone wanted.
You have the jailor in PvE.
You have the booster In PvP.
You’re misunderstanding. I’m not saying this isn’t a thing. I’m just saying it’s not slands exclusive. There’s no 3100 rated 2’s teams. Streamers that dominate 2’s for carry content have done so before and will do so after. People like playing low stress 2’s and helping others get achieves. I already admitted that it’d be a little less prominent without gear rewards but I don’t think it’ll be as noticeable as you assume it’ll be.
Nahj/xar or magnus and what bit push 2’s sometimes but most use it for the reasons you’re experiencing.
There’s not enough ques in the game right now for people to push and stay at a higher rating. MMR is really deflated
What I never understood is why people feel the need to boost so much. Gold has no real value outside of the monthly subscription fee, but the time spent to make that gold seems a bit ridiculous. We’re talking like a max of what, $16.99 a month in savings? I’ve never had an issue with gold. Like… NEVER. I don’t farm, I don’t really use the AH frequently, and I’m not doing anything special.
Like, the time it takes to acquire the gold to buy a token to use for your monthly subscription fee you could volunteer to do an hour of overtime and unless you’re being paid less than $13.66/hr, be able to buy a token. I value my personal time at more than that, a lot more. And since that monthly subscription is only redeemable once per month, it’s just not worth it to me. Like, it’s likely going to take over an hour to get it all setup, and by then it is likely to take more than an hour to get enough gold to buy a token.
People who brag about how much gold they make off carries worry me, not for them, but how a company can drum up such desire to farm an in-game currency that has extremely low real world value. It is mind-boggling to me, because I know there are people out there who work good jobs making at least $25+ an hour doing this. I don’t understand it AT ALL. Carrying someone isn’t even fun, it is frustrating as hell.
So yeah, that’s my take on it. I think RMT should be allowed to be honest. If you were in the top 5% of your profession, pretty much regardless of your profession, you’re going to make more than the $13.66/hr.

The only person I have seen actually wearing t3 is MUD :>
Also people were doing 2s carries from wrath onwards because it made them a lot of gold. Granted in cata I was making maybe 300g a win in 2s, instead of buying brackets they were buying wins for conq cap. So I guess that was why it was so cheap.
Occasionally I’ll look for people near a rating cutoff 1400/1600 and play with them until they get it. I’d say every 3rd game you’ll run into a 226+ which I bet is draining for the people stuck below 200 and 207 ivl. It’s a little easier to negate their damage as a geared healer, but some of those 1400 games get sweaty lol.
Ok while the gearig is an issue, so is boosting this isn’t something that started with shadowlands
This was pmuch what he did on his stream w/ his viewers in BfA even when PvP gave little to no rewards
The majority of people would stop doing it though if gear gaps weren’t as big yes
I queued into Pika a couple times when I was first pushing.
It’s not like a regular carry where someone is carrying chumps. His viewers are good and know what they’re doing so it makes it so much worse lmao.
In s1 of bfa my healer I got glad with fooled pika into thinking he needed a win for 1600. Pikas reaction when he mounted the glad drake was hilarious!
