Hello, I’m trying to start my death knight class hall campaign quest for legion but the npc duke lankral doesnt show up on my map to start the quest chain in dalaran. I know i havent started legion at all because I dont have any of the artifact weapons. His dragon shows up on the landing platform in dalaran but he doesnt. Is there a fix to this? I dont even see a quest marker on the map. Thank you.
Turn on low lvl quest tracking check the warboard for legion starting quest.
I did all of that, none of it works. The npc isn’t even showing up to give the quest.
It may be a phasing issue with the Broken Shore unlock. (Once you are high enough to unlock world quests, it can interfere with anything that takes place on Krasus’s Landing.) Unlock World Quests by going to Khadgar in the Violet Citadel and doing “Uniting the Isles,” and then do Khadgar’s quests on Krasus’s Landing to unlock the Broken Shore.
I’ve done those quests and unlocked world quests. He still doesn’t show up. Not quite sure whats going on.
Just to double check, you have done the following, right?
- Completed the Legion intro starting with “The Legion Returns” from the Hero’s Call board and ending with “In the Blink of an Eye.” Using the skip is fine, the important part is turning in “In the Blink of an Eye.”
- Unlocked the Broken Shore by completing “Armies of Legionfall” and “Assault on the Broken Shore.” (Again, using the skip is fine, the important thing is turning in “Assault on the Broken Shore.”)
Check and see if you’ve got any of the starter quests for the other Broken Isles zones, and go ahead and do them if you have them. There’s a small chance that some of them might cause phasing issues.
Beyond that, something may be broken with the boost, and the next step is to put in a ticket. (And you’ll very likely have to escalate it after the first response.) Make sure to mention the character is a boost.
I believe that the quest may be broken due to the boost. How do I escalate a ticket? I tried making a ticket but it just posted my inquiry onto the forums.
The ticket system can be a bit complicated to navigate, as it strongly tries to encourage self help. Unfortunately, it’s not really something you can talk someone through. You just have to carefully read the options as it’s taking you through the system and keep choosing options that are along the lines of “I still need help.”
Once you’ve had a ticket successfully placed, the first response is usually pretty canned. (I don’t know specifically about Blizzard CS, but I know it’s pretty common for first wave CS responders to only have seconds to respond to each ticket.) There should be a button to click along the lines of “I still need help” that sends it into a second wave where they look more carefully at the ticket.
Something else I though of: Where does you death gate take you? It’s a long shot, but if it takes you to the Broken Isles Acherus, some of your starter quests may be flagged as complete for some reason, and you may be able to pick up the quest chain there. (If it takes you to Eastern Plaguelands, at least its another data point on what’s wrong.)
Thank you so much for your help Udiza. My gate still takes me to eastern plaguelands, unfortunately. I’ll try to get this ticket going.
Stuck on quest is your best bet just keep in mind tickets are averaging 1 to 2 days. You may have to reopen it a 2nd time with i still have a problem.
Thank you Darthwraith, I’ll do just that. Hopefully things will be taken care of.
Have you had any luck or solutions this exact same thing happened to my Druid and I opened a ticket and had no luck
For anyone still experiencing this I THINK
the solution is to revisit Dalaran as a different spec than the one you boosted.
I boosted a DK, picked Unholy as the spec, never got the class quest.
Went back to Dalaran as a Blood DK and voila, quest was available.
All I did was go do the Mage Tower as a Blood DK and then went back to Dal.
I had also submitted a ticket and was told to report it as a bug (I did), but I never received notice that they addressed the bug.
So either the spec change is the trick or the bug fix was applied as I flew back to Dal.
Bug reports are a one way street u will rarely get a confirmation but it will be looked at.
