Getting to much info can also hold them back, but again the info from IV and Wowhead specifically isn’t bad. It’s just pretty basic.
thats true, and honestly is what i dont get it, if they see there that to pvp stamina and resilience are mandatory, how the f they go and think: gonna pvp with 4000 life and 200 spell power
This maybe applies to people that boost that have never played WoW or any video game, but most boosts are people that have played WoW for years, and if you have any experience on WoW you can learn any class in like 5-10 minutes at a basic enough level

It’s BGs. The best way to get resilience gear is: to do BGs for the honor to buy resilience gear.
What would you have them do? Visit the Caverns of Time and see if they can get sent back to Season 1 to do bgs against people with lower gear?
Boosted in BGs are currently getting 1-shot by rogues. Not because they don’t know the class, but because that is the extent of ilvl disparity. Sure, Blizzard COULD have given them T6/S4 equivalent gear to make them more competitive, but then people would have complained that boosties were handed the same level of gear people spent 100s of hours obtaining.

This is it really. Boosties tend to be real bad and wanna put in the least effort possible to get geared. This means they skip questing entirely, which is how you’re supposed to learn your class, and go straight into BGs to get those welfare epics.
Welfare epics from BGs has been a problem that Blizz has developed toward with most of their changes, and it’s pretty sad.
In SoM, the best way to gear was to grind R14. So instead of the dungeon grind for PreBiS, which was hella fun and lively in Classic, we had most of the 60s spam AFKing AV.
In prepatch they made brutal gladiator buyable with honor, which has pulled people away from running pug raids and heroics to prep for wrath.
The whole NOW NOW NOW thing wasn’t so prevalent in Classic, and it’s sad to see it go. Boosting and BG epics is just the game until the next raid tier.

here is what is happening…that gets old. So some spice it up.
I have been av spamming since 70 ding Friday night. It gets old. Baseline grand marshall gear what I got now. No sockets…that is 1400 a pop and I know grand marshall gear dies this week.
Now I have settled on gladiator as points come in. I won’t have the tank in the gas for brutal higher. Glad gear seams to be decent to hit northrend in.
And even this gear would be ranted on.
noobs not knowing what to do rants…I have long history of bg in retail. I “don’t know” what I am doing there from match to match.
Team X tells you to do this. it won. Team Y next match says you suck for this. Do this! Okay…confused but I aim to please.
Team Z 3rd match than says what team x and y said was wrong. Okay team Z…tell me what you want.
how BG goes as I see it. 10+ generals running around, all 5 stars ofc. 5 newer folks going okay…which of the 10 generals do I listen to.
and bad game play rants. that is a symptom of report afk gets bans here. I usually follow fight on flag, do not fight on road law.
not in classic. road fights gets me on meters if defence is slow. meters that if false reported will show I am not afk. I can fight my 7 day ban if it happens. Look! I get 10k+ a match. tactically poor choices were made. But its numbers.
Retail doesn’t ban for this. why I violate don’t fight on roads in classic. Ban fear.
Elune knows I have racked up /afk reports on retail epics for ticking off trash talkers in chat lol. SO I will hold a post and not be worried about low/no dps.
Like in ashran. Me and a druid can be crap dps on meters. We kill frag dude. 2 times. maybe 50K to 100K damage points. But if narduke is dead…no rocky. So a vital 50K of damage.
After I drop narduke I tend to go off and sap the 2400+'s till narduke is alive again. and healers. Healers not on the front lines…can’t heal the front line.
The average death knight is still somehow worse then the average booster even after leveling to 70

There seems to be a massive misconception that all Boosties are bad players… This really isn’t the case at all… They have bad gear, so get steam rolled by fully geared S4 players…
I boosted a warrior, got steam rolled by S4 players, I now have full S4 gear and steam roll everyone… This goes for a lot of boosties, we aren’t new players - just skipping the lvling grind.

Sure. The issue isn’t good players with boosted alts, it’s players who are new to a class that skip the entire leveling tutorial.
One of the examples given was a hunter who did not know what flare was.
leveling pve from level 1…does not use flare. for anything. At all.
The catch 22 to level it properly!
very few classes use everything in solo leveling. or dungeon. xp in bg didn’t come till wrath so…people did not hit this up till recently.
Throw in classics heavy reliance on resource bar (mana, energy, etc)…some don’t experiment either.
A paladin would like to see what all those buttons do.
they’d also be OOM in solo questing fast as hell if so.

resilience is the mandatory, but stamina is good as well, same for attack or spell power, how u expect to do a little when u got deleted in 1 sec, try to boe gear, some dgs gear with stamina, jesus, its not that hard
Imagine, if you will, you just boosted a character. Maybe you played a bit during the Classic era, but not seriously. Do those people have the gold for BOE’s? Definitely not. Even if they did, why would they spend it for BOE gear that will be replaced in a month with quest gear? As for dungeon gear, other than MGT, what dungeon gear is going to honestly make a difference against S4 gear? You had 14 months of TBC BGs without boosted characters. Now you get to be inconvenienced by new players for a month.

So wait…we are not supposed to be overgeared, we are not supposed to be undergeared, we are not supposed to run with 5 man premades…what the heck is acceptable?
I used my token for a rogue on Horde side. He is terrible. I geared him with all the stuff I could find in AH…and he is still terrible. So what.
You have got to be kidding, right? Some of us took the free roll to try a class we wanted to try. While I know mechanics (to some degree), objectives, and how to read raid chat…I do not know how to play a rogue in the current environment. Not everyone is out to cheat the system, nor purposely attempting to screw everyone else.

Would you rather have someone that leveled through spamming dungeons in your group or someone that leveled completely solo no dungeons?

It’s obviously provided by Blizzard for money so it’s not cheating, but it is generally annoying for players who know how to play their class to deal with players who CBA to level and learn their own.
At least communal gear is a glaring red flag.

Yeah the problem is that BGs shouldn’t be the most effective way to gear an alt. Welfare epics have always been a bad loophole.
