No, it doesn’t. It hinges on the idea that cash shop boosts are bad for games like World of Warcraft … because they are.
Then they don’t want to play Burning Crusade because leveling 1 to 58 in Vanilla is part of the experience. There’s going to be parts of the game that people don’t like … but they shouldn’t get to pay to skip them.
And players that only PvP at level cap also means less players for others to raid with and vice versa. Some people only like certain aspects of the game. Some people love raiding, some love leveling and some love PvP. Some people only like playing Mages, and don’t care that your raid needs Paladins to recruit. Some people like TBC content and didn’t like the Vanilla content.
Blizzard agrees that you shouldn’t have to play through the Vanilla content that you didn’t enjoy in order to experience Outland and TBC, thankfully.
There’s a plethora of videos that go into exhaustive detail on this. But even without them, it should be obvious that providing a cash shop option to skip portions of the game has far reaching consequences, virtually all of which are negative.
Say, you know what I don’t like? Dying. Yeah, dying in the game is a real bummer. Hey, I have an idea! We’ll have Blizzard add a cash shop option for a 12-hour invincibility potion. Sound good to you?
No, it’s part of the Vanilla experience. Back in 2007, we did not have Vanilla servers and so it made sense back then to retain that experience into TBC. Now, we do, and so that experience is rightfully relegated to those servers and not TBC
Forcing players to go through something they don’t like to get to something they do like is called bad game design
So is Karazhan. So is Gladiator. If you want it, maybe Blizzard should put attunement and titles in the cash shop. Or just cut to the chase and put the gear in there.
I don’t want videos of youtube personalities telling the people watching them what to think, I want to hear why you think they’re a bad idea. Don’t parrot Asmongold, think for yourself
I am thinking for myself. All of my opinions I have formed based on my own thoughts and evidence that has been presented to me. You’re the one telling me to go watch videos to hear your answer instead of just answering me yourself
That is literally, exactly how it is working and being approached by Blizzard. Just because you don’t agree with it doesn’t mean that that isn’t clearly Blizzard’s intention.
