Anyone have any leads? Looking for information on boomy pvp, especially being more tanky, better rune/talent setups, etc.
Thanks.

have you tried reading what your runes and talents do and picking the ones that make you more tanky?
just run frenzied regen / barkskin rune. If you want to get really frosty you can do Survival Instincts as well.
Outside of that there really isn’t too much to say, you don’t have a kick, or hard cc, basically everyone can escape roots so the general game plan is to kill your target before they kill you.
If you have trouble getting casts off, the dot damage of MF / Sunfire / Insect swarm is pretty brutal, and in a pinch you can bait out enemy CC and pop starfall for some added damage.
The way boomy normally plays doesnt really work in SoD, so its unfortunately not a very deep class, and health pools dont reflect damage rn in SoD, so the only real gameplan is “outburst your opponent”
Starsurge>stun>Starfire>step over corpse.
Stand 30 yards. Dot. Travel form. Drink. Repeat.
If that can’t work then you just press big dam as fast as you can. But really, the first suggestion is how balance plays in era. I’m not your typical boomie player so my advice isn’t that deep. I just know that travel form is the strongest mobility in the game and as long as you have mana you can remove any slow or root. Take advantage of that and you’ll realize their aren’t many classes that can keep up with travel form, innervate, and drinking. If you can manage that playstyle you can oom a lot of classes. In sod I understand their is more option to mana regen, so this strat may not work as well as usually. Especially if you get rando-critted from sod damage.
Hunters SHOULD be your counter but everything else you should be able to OOM if they are average and you are good. I’m not sure how boomie deals with rogue or war(no manas) in sod. With their increased mobility the kite strat may not work as well or not at all.
Since sod pvp isn’t really in a spot light, my suggestion would be to duel each class about 100 times (especially good pvpers) until you learn the in’s-and-out’s of each global. The goal is to memorize what they’ll probably press next. Point being, their isn’t really a in-depth guide to sod pvp for every class, and even if their was, I wouldn’t trust them until I put in my own work and learned fights global to global. Anyone who actually knows the in’s-and-out’s of sod pvp is probably keeping strats to their self and not sharing it on some guide on google. Most of those guides you’ll see are made by pvers who did a few BGs and think they know what they are talking about.
Also get engineering, the stop watch trinket, and the stun charm trinket. Magic damage shield potions are incredibly useful. Don’t blink at stoneshield potions either, they’re worth (I think) about 15% physical damage reduction.
Step 1: Faceroll
Step 2: repeat step 1
Nobody is tanky enough for SoD PvP.
You have the the best layer of the defense onion in spades:
(Cast cast cast, if they get close… travel form and be gone, if slowed, travel form again and be gone.)
