Boomkin Nerf, yes please! :D (3.5k starfire crit in pvp gear)

Yeah the damage is just too high, as a shadow priest full BiS R13 + PvE Wep/OH off pieces I can only crit around 2.2k mindblast max. Boomkin in pvp gear is critting starfire for 3.5k AND it stuns, that’s after they pop Starfall + Starsurge (1.5k crit) etc. Good luck to anyone outliving any of that.

I can outlive it and outrange it

Hopefully there isn’t 2 of them.

Just play a shaman brother. They can tank every class while staying over 80% mana and doing A-S tier dmg on you ^.^ Hope you have a great day Smiteth :people_hugging:

lol good point

I guess silence isn’t on your bars. lmao smh…

Run into 20 yrd to silence and get destroyed by the starfall that silence does not stop.

hehe.

really though moonkin are busted and the actual incarnation of what people said ele shaman was in the latter half of p3 and somehow the same people that were so against ele shaman and indeed shaman in general somehow defend moonkin .

its pretty funny actually.

Boomkins are overpowered in PVP, we all know that. A nerf will probably come in some goofy indirect blizzard type solution that improves the situation while breaking something else d:

(Note on Spriest vs Boomkins)

As for shadow priest though, the R13 set is dogwater. The T2 6-set is VASTLY superior in PVP. Having 25% more SP running nearly 100% of the time in a BG makes knocking the boomkin out really easy. It’s only a big problem for us when they have a healer (since we use our initial burst to take like 90% of their HP, then DoTs do the rest). I know some PVP players don’t raid though, so it is what it is if you don’t do both.

Boomies are OP because they just have too much burst while also having starfall, not to mention the spellcast pushback. Oh yeah, and massive range. And the ability to stealth (double if alliance). And self heals. And barkskin. And bearform. And kitty sprint. And innervate. And… And… And…

Can do this on a lot of classes without the 2-3 second standing still IN moonkin form casting.

Pro tip. Stun starfall = ez boomy kill

i mean we can list the abilities alot and just point to them but bleh.

the things that make a boomkin op are the 36 yard range on all or nearly all of their spells.

the fact that the only spell worth casting that has a cast time at all is starfire which with talents and zg set is already a 2 second cast (pretty quick) and can be brought lower than that too which also does 3k+ damage on crits (often 3.7k+) .

every other spell is an instant cast or an instant cast that then channels while the moonkin is free to cast all their other kit while channeling.

the massive push back on spells with starfall being active (which can only be stopped by loss of control effects like stun or fear but good luck getting a cast off to cc them before you die cause your 2 second cast is now 10+).

then on top of this they have 3 min cooldowns that make them effectively immune to damage as they heal with frenzied regen bigger than any damage you do to them and often times gain health while people beat on them (oh and they can cast their full kit while doing this).

doing big damage is ok.

doing big damage while being effectively immune to damage is not.

So you die alot on your boomkin?

Shamans are the weakest class right now. Shush

So it is impossible for you to get within 20 yards? lmao bruh smh.

IDK bruh fear stops it, grenade stops it, blackout stun stops it… He complained about starfire doing to much damage silence stops that idk bruh skill issue.

I kill boomkins fairly easy in world pvp.

In rando bgs they’re pretty good because ally is brain dead and don’t know how to cc/dispel/offheal basically do anything other than smash 2 dps buttons and run to the forums crying.

No frenzy regen up = dead boomy

with current numbers being what they are its far from a skill issue and more of a “boomkin do an incredible amount of pressure and can start at 16 yards more range than you” type of issue.

im not sure if silence even interrupts an already casted starfall but if it does that doesnt stop the already at half health and losing more while you get in range to even cast silence issue.

but ya . whatever.

edit to add:

wanted to respond to this.

its impossible to offheal or cast anything when starfall is going as the spell pushback is insane.

if its not an instant stun /coil/ or something that causes loss of control to the druid, it not getting off as long as the starfall is happening.

Shamans are busted because they can become super tanky which enables them to actually use all of their class’ tools.

shaman lose 20 yards range (down to 10 yard range for all their main spells other than shocks) and melee range for earthshock with way of earth rune.

which leaves them very vunerable to range chars .

also you have to consider their gear choices which reduces some of that mitigation if they go for a more offensive tank .

also the talent choices for such a setup leaves some to be desired in the tank mitigation aspect depending on setup .

if a range or two is on the tank shaman starting at max range , there is little they can do to really counter it and once decoy or grounding expires , they are fully kiteable .

But then we loose like 1k hp or more?
