Anyone have any book suggestions if they enjoy WoW that aren’t the WoW books? (I’ve read almost all of them, they all have terrible writing)
Not LOTR, game of thrones, etc.

Read the Riftwar Saga by Feist.
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan
The Mistborn series and the Stormlight series by Brandon Sanderson
those should keep you busy for quite a while.
The Chronicles of Narnia (start with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) C. S. Lewis
The Space Trilogy (starts with Out of the Silent Planet) C. S. Lewis
Kingkiller chronicles series (warning unfinished series, living author, starts with Name of the Wind) Patrick Rothfuss
Brandon Sanderson (again, living author, unfinished series)
Robert Jordan (series completed by Brandon Sanderson after his death… which is why I feel obligated to warn about unfinished series)
Michael J. Sullivan (Riyria chronicles series, Riyria revelations series - he is the kind of “write it all then publish books”, very safe read)
You could also try more historical science fiction like Jules Verne - 10,000 Leagues under the Sea, Journey to the center of the earth, around the world in 80 days.
This is a great series!
And if you want a break from fantasy, always read Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. If you like it, keep going! He’s expanded the universe in neat ways, including a book that mirrors the events in Ender’s Game from a different character’s point of view, Ender’s Shadow.
Redwall series is great!!
Steven Erickson is a good writer but you have to enjoy massive plots. I think 30 characters is the most he limited himself to with the average cast numbering close to the hundred mark for his novels.
Honestly, it got better after he kicked it. Books 1-6 are all woolly-headed-this and braid-tugging-that, 7-11 are just plain boring, 12-14 wrapped it up pretty well.
Brandon Sanderson makes his plots happen. I started reading his books after he finished the Wheel of Time so well.
Here are some of my favorites that are similar in theme to WoW and I think other WoW players will enjoy.
edits: I also enjoyed these books, but are like, fantasy set in a modern era
Space theme:
The Undying Mercenaries series by B.V. Larson (this is my favorite series of anything I’ve ever read) I just started it recently and I CAN’T put it down! I am reading the books in this series back to back, there are 10 books so far. IMHO this is SOOOO GOOOD.
(I’ve read almost all of them, they all have terrible writing)
BOI, William King would like a word with you!
That said, Piers Anthony’s works are pretty good. However, stick to the early Xanth books (Best to read them in order, too, since he does a lot of referencing earlier events) and his Incarnations of Immortality series.
Read the Riftwar Saga by Feist.
The entire Krondor world is my alt time favorite. I read every one of the books, probably every other year. I just keep getting drawn back to the world. That being said, Riftwar Saga is definitely the best series of it.
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan

I think Sanderson definitely did great justice to the Wheel of Time. Obviously the last 3 books had the most consistent action, as its where the entire plot was boiling to a climax. Don’t get me wrong, the middle books Robert Jordan discovered the J RR Tolkien recipe for writing. Use 150 words to get across a point that could be made in 15. And yes. If I have to hear about an Accepted straightening her skirts one more time I will scream. But over all, it was an amazing series with a multitude of characters that all had a fitting time to shine in the end.

This is also one of my most favorite series. Children of the Mind will always be my favorite.
I really enjoy Jim Butcher and his Dresden Files series and R.A. Salvators Forgotten Realms

I’ve been reading translated wuxia, xianxia, Japanese/Korean light novels. Wonder if there are free pdfs for western/American books though, so I can binge read without fearing for the wallet.
Incarnations of Immortality series.
Genuinely one of my favorite series. Still annoyed that For Love of Evil and And Eternity arent available as ebooks. Parry is one of my favorite characters.
That said, I cant think of any books that make me think of WoW, but the Artemis Fowl books are pretty good if you dont want something super srs bsns. Evil 12 year old kidnaps an elf and holds her for ransom.
Read Berserk.
I almost forgot another amazing series The Green Rider by Kristen Britain. It is still ongoing but without a doubt worth a read.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see e-releases of those two soon.
BuzzFeed I guess .
Chalk up another vote for the NPCs series by Drew Hayes. I also really enjoyed the Prince of Thorns series by Mark Lawrence.
