Bonus roll rationale

So right now the only gear that is an upgrade for myself as a heroic raider is the jailer two hander. Did my weekly kill and it didn’t drop so now I have to wait until next week. If we had the bfa bonus roll system I would have five coins and I would go back and kill jailer another five times for a chance at loot, that’s a lot of extra played time blizzard, do you not want me to play and raid log :frowning: ?

I would gladly go back and kill that boss another five times , instead I won’t raid heroic until next week now.

IMO, M+ gives spammable 272 gear, it’s time that to let the heroic raid be spammable for heroic raid gear as well. To me, weekly lockouts on the heroic raid and below seem unnecessary once the valor cap is removed.

I thought you were limited to the one roll on a boss each week?

That’s a neat idea

This makes way too much sense!

It’s “upgrade for me”. Maybe with your lockout time you can learn that me and myself aren’t interchangeable

I remember being able to roll as many times as you wanted unless I’m mistaken

Once upon a time, the bonus roll was a 15% chance, which is pretty low.
But there was also bad luck protection.
I remember joining raids for that one boss with that one piece for as many bonus rolls as I owned (maybe three tries in a week?), hoping to up the chance and get my piece (probably a tier piece back then). It was part of the culture and I’m not sure that it was a good thing because the pug groups would see a lot of people show up for a boss and then leave and they’d have to start filling up the group again for the next boss.
What I did like about bonus rolls was the preparation before a raid and everyone reminding each other to stock up and be ready AND you kept a sure eye on the loot tables and hoping for that piece that you wanted. Now it is a lot more passive, and you don’t care as much and whatever happens will happen but unlikely, lol.

Blizz seems to have forgotten that the purpose of bonus rolls was different from the vault. Bonus rolls were against a specific loot table, whereas the vault is against all unlocked loot tables for that content. This is the difference between putting your money in a slot machine that has a 15% chance to give you what you want or a slot machine that has a 1% chance to give you what you want but always gives you something.

I’m not in a mood to rant about this again… but the loot situation in shadowlands is all sorts of statistical FUBAR. Particularly if you play a lesser played class/spec or play a class spec that is the only one eligible for that drop (The warglaive off of lords of dead might as well not exist) in your group. They also seem to deliberately weight pieces people actually want to not drop so you’re forced to grind even more. It’s incredibly frustrating. They seriously need to make calculator for how likely you are to get a piece based on raid comp and make it public so people can know just how [censored] they are.

You guys won’t be happy until you wreck the game and homogenize everything together

You want all races to be able to be all classes

You are OK with wow being basically a lobby game

You want account wide everything like rep which destroys uniqueness of characters people invest in

Now you want unlimited raid boss attempts

Unreal

I’d love to see a calculator!
It might drive me to do many more m+ runs, but I’d still like to see one.
