I know what you’re gonna say, “BRE is best” but why? We don’t even know it’s proc rate, I’ve been googling for hours looking for anyone running tests on BRE about it’s proc rate with 0 findings other than pserver results.
So if you say BRE, can you at least back it up with solid numbers? Please convince me to not neglect my wife and family in my quest for rank 14.

I can’t say I’ve seen testing, but I’m gonna say that it is EXTREMELY RARE that weapon procs trumps raw damage output. I don’t think the bonereaver has 100% uptime, which is the only thing that would make it comparable to a weapon that has 10 base dps above it.
BRE is incredibly OP because players other then plate wearers have extremely low armor, and pretty much for cloth to mail you can make their armor value next to nothing make you do true damage. Also don’t sleep on untamed blade, the 300 strength proc makes it more dps then KT’s Mace.
Yeah if untamed blade has a high procrate it might be the best 2h wep in the game lol
My personal experience: BRE hurts, yo.
It, doesnt have a stupid proc rate but it procs enough. I used to run it with crusader and earth strike. Wasnt uncommon to get a crusader and utb proc at the same time so I’d pop earthstrike and two shot people. AA->MS dead.
It still would have rather had an Ashkandi or Naxx 2h.
But, I’d rather have UTB than BRE myself. Most importantly, it doesn’t look like a derp sword, so its automatically better.
Being a good father and husband is FAR more important than r14 in a 15 year old game that is already dying man…
What we do know is BRE does have a very high proc chance and you lose minimal stats for a proc that gives armor penetration… up to 3 times… which is huge.
I beg to differ… on all accounts.
I think it’s something like:
1 proc BRE is around the same as, or just a bit below R14.
2 proc BRE is around or just below might of menethil and above R14.
3 proc BRE is the highest DPS weapon in the game, outside of UTB procs, which are infrequent.
I had a chart somewhere that broke down all the top weapons in the game and their procs, and I’m remembering something along the lines of this. 3 Proc BRE is nuts in PvP. The only trick is uptime, which is hard in PvP. The R14 weapon may be more consistent, but if you’ve already got BRE, R14 is not worth the suffering to get it imo.

First Razorgore kill in Vanilla gifted me an untamed blade on my warrior. No one in the guild wanted to control him so I volunteered. Worked out great for me!

Good father? If you are going for r14 on any server except ones that have ridiculously low honor totals, you can’t be A father.
you don’t need solid numbers, you need logic.
BRE has big boy armor pen. If you are already closing the gap on a clothy, the armor pen is irrelevant and you can just melt face with its big deeps.
Where BRE shines is against other melee. Armor is huge in classic and to just ignore it makes a warrior the equivalent of a mage (a wet noodle).
IDK why everyone calling BRE ugly. That thang is a beauty.

BRE has about an 11.1% chance to proc, with Untamed blade at 11.3%, the 2 highest PPM weapons in the game I believe. At least for 2h
