So BDB on the ptr was given a 5% damage increase (from 35 to 40%), but it no longer has the ability to crit. This is of course a gigantic nerf.
Sweet, another round of weeks / months of waiting for ww changes on the ptr, only to wake up to this. Of course there are no changes to WW specifically at all, and no hint of changing our anemic, awful ST.
While I do like the covenant, it looks like we’re all gonna be pigeonholed into kyrian again, and will have to dump a lot of crit as it’s value will be much less than it was previously.
I can’t with these devs…

Good way to kill off an entire covenant for monks.

Yup, and along with this venth mw also got a sizeable nerf. Guess they just want every monk to be kyrian again.

So for reference the covenant would only crit for damage events and more specifically double dipping into crit.
So 1 its a none change for mw
and how it would work now is logic
in 9.1 → 9.2
tp hits for 100 (non crit)
bdb hits for 35 (non crit)
tp hits for 200 (crit)
bdb hits for 70 (non crit)
tp hits for 100 (non crit)
bdb hits for 70 (crit)
tp hits for 200 (crit)
bdb hits for 140 (crit)
add bone marrow hops and you can quickly get larger than the source hit
this double dip with crit is illogical
Not sure how this will affect PvP because the value mainly comes with stacking keefers to make bonedust crit.
Bonedust Brew is already nerfed by 33% so it is kinda just wait and see what happens. If it turns out that you cannot really kill people anymore with it then Kyrian might be the go to covenant again, although fleshcraft is really powerful.
And Kyrian will have a decent sustain build with the new set bonuses + Xuens Treasure legendary
Not sure how they decided out of all overperforming classes to nerf WW again, but I guess you get used to it

It is actually not that much of a nerf. Currently it is just bringing all covenants closer together in terms of power. So players have more choice.
It is a 10% reduction in FO healing which brings it in line with the othet covenants and makes them viable choices.
Again not really a nerf more balancing.
Also the bdb is a straight up buff to mw. We never crit with our heals with bdb anyways. (heals affected by bdb have never crit)
Logically it makes sense but it’s inconsistent with blizzard’s design philosophy. And needed to be changed.
Play Kyrian with 33% Haste lego. Your Weapons of Order also summon Xuen so you get good go every minute.
I like that alot but have gotten so use to fleshcraft
I get it but Necro Lego is mediocre at best. It has 1,3 procs per minute so it means it might proc twice and then for 3 min. will proc once a minute and with BDB nerfs it’s not that good.
Keep in mind that Assassination Rogues will be good next patch. Kyrian will get better instantly.
Just gonna point out that it wasn’t able to crit in 9.0, then it was bugfixed to be able to crit in 9.1
It’s too bad about the Sinister Teachings nerf. Getting the CD down to a minute felt nice in M+.
So what you’re saying is it’s a nerf to ww only and instead of agreeing, you made a huge post full nothing.
BDB duplicated damage itself couldn’t crit BUT that was fine because it scaled off of the actual damage done
SO if your tp crit the bdb would be correct for it
AKA
It had force crit if the parent source ability crit
I think this change is terrible and needs to be reverted immediately… when u play necro on windwalker u want to have alot of crit for BDB, when BDB doesn’t crit it feels so underwhelming like super bad. I can’t wrap my head around why in the hell they make dumb changes like this like do they play there own game or not?

BDB never crit. It was the original attack that crit and BDB simply was inceased by that.
From the 9.1 patch notes: " Fixed an issue that prevented the damage and healing of Bonedust Brew (Necrolord Ability) from critically striking." I’m simply pointing out that this was done intentionally and was phrased as a bug fix, and it is now being reverted. I wouldve rather had them nerf the base damage but still allow it to crit because WW already struggles with secondary stat scaling, but i agree it was too strong (at least for this patch)
no, hes saying that double dipping crit is crazy broken and ultimately led to it being to strong for its own good.
As a Kyrian WW, I welcome everyone back to the open arms of Mama Smurf.
But RIP double dipping Invoker’s with Kyrian Leggo. It would have been fun to play double tigers with 60% haste.
Paladin talking about things hitting too hard. Lol.
