Bombers need changes!

Look, I know Demonic Strength is better than bombers, but bombers look so damn cool.

For TWW blizzard should make a couple changes to Bilescourge Bombers:

  • Make it targeted. They are already changing shadow priest’s crash to be targeted instead of ground targeted. Bilescourge Bombers should have the same treatment.
  • BUFF IT! As it is currently, after testing on the dummies, Bombers are doing about 41% of Demonic Strenght’s damage. To be competitive, it should deal at -least- 50% of the damage since it is 50% of the CD. Ideally a little more due to GCD economy.
  • Nerf DE, sort of! Everyone gonna hate me for this but hear me out: Felstorm has a target cap of 8, it should go down to 5. This would allow blizzard to tune the damage up so it is the better option for single target or small AoE, it wouldn’t be a DPS loss, in fact, it’d be a DPS gain for ST and cleave, only being a nerf on big pulls. With that bombers can shine in AoE since they are soft capped at 20 targets. As it is, DE is better at both, there’s no talent choice there.

I get it ground target has some advantages like hitting two enemies relatively far appart but still fitting inside the circle. Or revealing invisible enemies. A “/cast [@target]” macro for ground spells would be ideal so you get both options, but we are not getting it because it’d be broken for some spells (shadowfury never missing in pvp for example).

Having a Glyph that makes it targeted would be an improvement, though I do agree, its damage should be at least 50% that of Demonic Strength.

wow a post with nothing but bad ideas …

And you believe this why?

as someone who has played lock at the mythic lvl and pushed keys every change this person wants to make would be a net negative to demo lock game play.

Elaborate? Because if you are doing “mythic level gameplay” you don’t use bombers at all, so buffing it is not bad. And it’d be better at “mythic level gameplay” mass pulling than Demonic Strength while buffing DS for single target.

Saying something is bad and not providing an argument for it just makes me think you’re a troll or a contrarian.

The irony in their response is that right now we do use Shadow invocation in Season 4 for keys, so I would ignore them.

I think that even if Bombers was perfectly on par with Demonic Strength in terms of dps it would still have the problem of competing with Fel sunder.

Maybe if there was another talent to complement bombers, like a choice node to compete with Fel sunder.

Damn, that’s a good point. Making bombers apply Fel sunder would be an option so both talents do the same thing. But then buffing bombers damage would make it too strong because you’d effectivelly have a 50% uptime on fel sunder. (can use felstorm and bombers in 15s intervals between one another)

I’d still use bombers if they buffed the damage to be par with DS and made it targeted just because I love the animation, but you have a point there Sizziz, on a min-max point of view the fel sunder debuff would win. Most people dont push keys that high for it to matter, I just want it targeted and competitive-ish.

you used bombers on mythic Tswift and as they are now it was perfect for that fights situation. shadow invoc is just a random proc on ability so no change needed there works great. as to the other changes target cap is a bad idea and having bombers focus a target would not be great as in fights bombers are used you are nuking an area and often a main boss or mob can get moved also in M+ I would rather aoe the entire pack then have it on a mob that runs out of the pack and you get zero value
