I’m still fairly new to the game and am trying to level up leather working. I’m following a guide and i’m currently at 170 where I need to make guardian pants. For that I need multiple bolts of silk cloth, which I cannot find and have searched for a couple of days online trying to figure it out and have been unsuccessful.
Sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t find it anywhere!

Silk thread is obtainable from tailoring supplies vendors, usually located near tailoring trainers.
Bolts of silk are crafted by tailors and if none in your guild have any available, you can usually find some on the auction house. A tailor can make a bolt of silk from 5 silk cloth.
There is a vendor in a clothing shop in Silvermoon that occasionally has bolts of silk, wool, and linen as well as cloth. Ask a Silvermoon guard for directions to the tailoring trainer. The vendor is at the other end of the row of shops the tailor is in. He has, at most, 2-3 bolts at any one time.

Tailors can turn silk cloth into bolts of silk cloth.
You can sometimes get them out of the trunks you can fish up from various pools in the world. (Wowhead is down for maintenance, so I can’t check which pools/zones would give you the best chance.)
Honestly, though, unless you know a tailor or can find some relatively cheap bolts on the Auction House, I’d just use a different pattern to level though that range. It might end up being less efficient with your leather, but it will probably beat tracking down the bolts of cloth without a tailor.

Also there are websites that have guilds to help you with this. I use Wowhead for my professions.
