Bolster your servers for large scale world pvp

I wonder why they don’t. Exhibit A: BFA had incursions and an adjustable % increase on war mode rewards… also a weekly quest to kill 25 players and bounties of course. Also no flying at first which isn’t the biggest deal. Even with flying it was still popping. They give everyone a reason to do content like raids and battlegrounds/arena… what reason is there to do world PvP unless they add? They don’t care it seems.

It’s probably easier and cheaper for them to shard things so they don’t have to upgrade server infrastructure to be able to handle 100 people in the same area at a given time, so that’s what they do. It’s not about whether or not it’s end game content, it’s about the path of least resistance and highest returns.

Contrary to what many people believe, the PVP community is still very much alive and well.

But anyway, Blitz was the perfect medium for me. I’ve always loved YOLOs, hate joining weird sweaty voice chats for arena/RBGs, and world pvp is hit or miss. The lag sucks horribly.
Blitz did the job without really doing the job of giving us what I wanted (which was world pvp with ability to grind weapon illusions/seasonal mounts etc). Good enough I guess. I’m happy, but it would be nice for them to overhaul open world in general again. Cataclysm was a long time ago now.

I can’t speak for everyone but I personally don’t pvp because then I get overly competitive and rage when something I think unfair or such happens . I’ve always felt PvE is more fair because you can plan and prep or practice things ahead of time.

What a shame they would make a lot of money off that aspect of the game. It’s a dead category because it is shown no love. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out

#Fund World PVP

That happens for the first few days for me as well. Just gotta get over the adrenaline dump and power through. xD This is what burner characters are for, so you don’t care as much about what happens to them.

Never pvp on your main!

I don’t think they would, because every game that has billed itself as being full PVP with “huge, epic battles” has always failed.

Deathballs never live up to the platonic ideal. It’s just casters spamming all their attacks and melee unable to engage or else they get vaporized in an instant by concentrated fire.

Doesn’t have to be the main focus but don’t take away from what was once possible on older aged servers! If you upgrade your technology compensate for it. It’s a request I ask humbly it would be cool… but it won’t happen. Vanilla to around MoP could handle that size why does this version crash out around 60-80 people in one area?

Agreed. People who do other things in game besides endgame pay just as much money as the people who do end game content. PVP, Rolplaying, stuff like that but they are not really thought of because it isn’t main stream. So blizzard doesn’t put any effort into it.

I would love it if they would buff the chest at gurubashi arena to drop a mount or something so it gives people a reason to fight over it. But with current state of the servers it wouldn’t be able to handle more than 5 people in a zone at a time lately.

I only have a main, I don’t really play alts in current expansion content. D:

This would be an interesting number to have to see how many players PvP. I bet it’s pretty high since we get those weekly chests for doing it too. I just never done it myself. Been thinking about it but it seems like it may be hard to hop into.

That was such a crazy show with the seventeen guilds that showed up day 1 xD oh mah gawd.

when you get into pvp it will hurt. It will hurt alot while you are learning how to do it. It’s very different from pve and world pvp is unpredictable. but it is a major fun and a major adrenaline rush.

I would recommend it.

No pain no gain huh lol

Sounds good but if you want to be playing in a wow 2 with unreal engine like graphics and optimization in the code from top to bottom’ and everything else people want from a wow2 - hope blizzard has been secretly working on such a project for the last couple years or else you’d be lucky for wow 2 to release by 2033.

The thing is, I thought that way for a while… But I now hold that perhaps the graphics shouldn’t change THAT much. After all, WoW’s art style is its staple. We have seen games, including other MMOS (FFXIV) changing graphics for the sake of ‘updating’ them, but that carries significant risk of pushing players away. It’s crucial for the game to maintain its integrity, vision, and strengths… And also be careful not to follow trends or even new techs just because they exist.

I thought this thead was about boosting servers for large scale worgen :wolf:

That’s not going to happen though because most players aren’t affected by it. I only experience it at the hanger, and sunken ring in the first fight. Outside that don’t see lag, even being on a high pop server.

There is lag on Isle of Conquest for a couple of the large scale fighting spots, usually soon after timer goes off and factions meet in the middle. And at end when overrunning other team’s base for the win. As mentioned sunken ring in WG a problem too.

Haven’t read the whole thread but yeah large scale epic bg occasionally lags out.
