Hi All,
I have a question regarding BoE mounts from BfA. Today I got the Terrified Pack Mule in Drustvar after staggering 4,000 kills and I subssequently bound it to my account.
Would the drop chance still exist if I farm the same mount on another character of the same account? Or would the drop chance become 0% because I already have the mount bounded to the account?
Thanks and Happy New Year!
So, drop chances don’t change depending on if you’ve looted it or not. You could get it in the first or fifteen thousandth kill. It took me well over that for the hyena mount, and if I were to try farming it again it could take just as long if not longer.
4000 kills is actually rather lucky if you ask me.

Hi Ma’am,
I was nearly freaking out as I farmed it with my Warrior from level 35 to 50. Today is really lucky as I didn’t expect to get it but I did.

Aye good find. Well done. It may not be prudent to farm again, because it may take a long time. If you can set up a farming group then there’s a chance it’ll go faster but no guarantees.

What is the point of the farming group as it only drops 1 mount at a time? So only 1 person can get it out of 5 people and when that person gets it, he or she will leave which leaves the other 4 players empty-handed and resume with the farming
Yeah I mean that’s the risk you take I guess.
The point is farming in a group is faster so you all get more chances at it and you all have an equal shot at the RNG. So there’s really no reason not to.
puts on tin-foil hat
Ahem…
Based exclusively on my anecdotal experiences and aggressive bias, I have found out and discovered in fact, that after looting a mount and learning it; your drop chance to loot the same mount again dramatically increases while all other mounts you still don’t have gain yet another decrease in drop chance.
Thank you for attending my TED Talk.

ppl dont just farm the mount for their personal collection, they farm it to sell. Whats known as a 2x4 farm, means you can generally hyperspawn the mobs which = more chances it has to drop.
Enlighten me on what a 2x4 farm is?
2Ă—4 (pronounced 2 by 4) farming is farming that tries to maximize the kill speed on mobs while taking advantage of group loot privileges . Usually only one group of 5 can tag a single mob, but if you only have 4 people in the group, then one person from the other group can tag the mob as well and all 8 players will be able to loot it.

I don’t have a feeling this is right. The first mount (pack mule) dropped at 6k attempts. The second (dune scavenger) at 18k attempts, and the third (goldenmane) dropped at 13k attempts. I think it’s entirely random. Future drops will be unaffected by whether you have the mount already.
Haha, yeah. I have 3/4, and I don’t dare learn them considering the AH price.
Sorry I meant when I got the Terrified Pack Mule it was an BoE mount, then I used (bound) it to my account now it is with my account.
So I am planning to continue farming the Mule mount and if I get another one by luck I will sell it on AH.
Note: I checked AH last night and the Mule mount was posted by some player for 1.5 million gold and today I checked again it was sold. Never expected this non-flying mount can be sold this high.
